MK Dons winning
Swindon winning
Huddersfield winning

10 points off 6th place and Brentford now ahead of us on the "live" table

Somehow need to turn this around

Perhaps we might choose to play a bit in the second half?

Still on for my 2-2 prediction, though.

Just had a text, were awful and can't pass the ball more than three times before losing it. Looks like a months rest has changed nothing then.

Looks like today was a good day to have man flu.

No doubt Hutchings and O'Connor will have worked out what is going wrong and will make some decisive tactical changes and canny substitutions.

What a load of tosh. They have one of the leakiest defences in the country, and we are losing to them.

They are battering us, its a f***** joke.

Commentary suggests we were rather pathetic, and quite lethargic - so much for a nice rest and getting players fit over these last few weeks then.

I thought - but must have imagined - that I'd read how the players were raring to get going again - so much for that then.

All hopes of the play-offs must now have gone IMHO. If we can't beat this shower, what chance vs Norwich, Charlton, Leeds etc in the coming weeks, and with 8 games in February, injuries, suspensions and downright knackeration will certainly do for us.

I half-expected this - always seems to happen when we work so hard to get a game on after poor conditions - nothing changes! :(

A year ago Bonser sacked Mullen saying that results had not been good enough particularly at home and this was affecting gates. Walsall had played 23 and earned 31 points. Our home form was played 11 won 6 lost 5. Of the previous three home games we had won 2 and lost 1.

So far this season under Hutchings we have played 23 and earned 31 points. Our home form is played 12 won 4, draw 5 lost 3. Of the previous three home games we have won 0, drawn 1, lost 2.

I do not think that we should sack Hutchings, but he is only an average Walsall manager. The trouble with sacking him is that Bonser is just as likely to appoint someone who is worse than him.

Disappointing result. That's nine goals conceded in four games and three defeats in four - that win at Yeovil already seems a long time ago.

Looking forward [if that's the term :( ]to reports from some of the 3,450 who were there, and I'm sure it will not be good. The team looked far too weak down both flanks to begin with.

All this talk by some on here about 'pushing for the Play Off's' is an absolute joke. It's more realistic, if anything, that we could be sucked in to a relegation battle.

Can't recall the exact figure announced on Saddlers World commentary, but just under 3,500 I believe, with nearly 500 from Brighton and just under 3,000 Saddlers' fans. Grim!

3,450, with a good turnout of 497 from the South Coast [Source: Brighton OS]. Less than 3,000 Saddlers and we're placed in midtable - god knows how low it would be if we were really struggling.

It must be the lowest 'home' turnout for a league match since the days of BFJ.

Taking out the ST's and away fans, there could't have been much in the way of home ticket sales today. Understandable given the weather and the fact that for many people, it is the thick end of a month since their last pay day, but very disappointing, none the less.

Let's hope the Norwich game takes place next Saturday (from a finance pov, that is)

"Promotion contenders"

God oh god we were awful. We cant pass, we can't shoot, we cant defend.

We might as well get rid of Bradley and Sansara because they're simply not good enough.

We're right to worry about money in the bank, but my biggest worry right now is how many Norwich will put in our net. To be perfectly honest, I just hope we don't get totally humiliated! :?

So, not much different to the whole first half and the last 30 minutes of the second half vs Orient, Phil ??

Indeed. 5-0 away at Colchester today  Revenge for being stuffed 7 by them on the opening day.

On the basis that we are likely to get scagged either on Saturday or Tuesday then we may as well hope for the extra few quid to help fund the forthcoming January transfer activity

And what is more, with no money to spend, what difference exactly will a new manager make at this time of the season?

Great finish by forster by the way! Even though his celebration was a tad barclays

It's not Sansara's fault he's rubbish. It IS Hutchings fault when there's a tried and tested, solid left back sat fiddling with himself on the bench.

What must Jamie Vincent be thinking?

Oh, and for the Richards baiters, I thought he was one of our top three performers today. Good goal, hardly wasted a ball. He's not Ryan Giggs. He's not really a left winger. But he can read the game pretty well, make a telling pass, and has reasonably good feet.

People who've never played football won't understand these things of course, and would prefer to see, say, Taundry launching himself ('because he cares') at players and chasing lost causes.

I agree sacking Hutchings would be useless now. Don't get me wrong, he is a useless waster, without a tactical bone in his body, and absolutely no idea about changing a game or substitutions. In any normal situation I'd be calling for his head without hesitation. However, while we've got Bonser in charge we may as well stick with what we've got as they'll all be working with their hands tied behind their back.

Ince- 1st half was reluctant to leave his 6 yard box! and dropped one cross which nearly resulted in another goal! 2nd half not much to do....

Westlake- Didn't have too bad of a game but was pushed off the ball quite easily at times
Hughes- Looks very slow, was turned very easily and finds it hard to mark a player
Smith- Didn't do too much
Sansara- is defiantly up there with the worse player i have seen in a walsall shirt, he cant kick a ball to save his life!

Till- Ghosted in and out of the game but made a few good runs and was starting to get into the game until he was subbed....
Bradley- Was he playing?
Mattis- Same as Bradley
Richards- Looked more comfortably in the centre of midfield when playing 4-3-3, 100% not a left winger!

Deeney- Worked very hard, didn't stop running, had a decent game except for the miss at the end....
Byfield- Had a decent game

Subs
Parkin- Was quite impressed when he came on, got stuck in, won a few good headers
O'Keefe- Didnt do too much

So much for the players who assured us they were desperate/chomping at the bit/itching to get back into action.

WORDS AM CHEAP YOU WASTERS. ACTUALLY PROVING IT ON THE FIELD IS MUCH HARDER THAN A FEW EASY WORDS TO THE OFFICIAL SITE.

EFF OFF AND COME BACK WHEN YOU CAN DELIVER THE BIG PROMISES.
