Walsall versus Charlton, postponed. Away win.

Two pools panel defeats over the Christmas period and a no-show against Norwich? Barnwell out!

If the Norwich game is off then looking at the forecast there is no chance of the Charlton game being on :(

Tinned to have an altercation with a fellow fan who tells him "don't come again" when he critizes the postponement :)

Charlton to be 4-0 up at HT, when Roy Whalley calls the game off stating that a tiny patch of ice in the corner arc makes it to dangerous for the match to be continued as the safety of the Walsall players is at risk.

It says it should be snowing at 3pm today, its how nearly 6.30 and no snow. Its been drizzling for half an hour but thats it. Snow wont stick but we might have an icey pitch problem.

The groundsmen seem to be good at Walsall. A match last season was on after bad rain, and there was a small tractor on the pitch putting spikes into the ground. Swindon was called of last season but thats it.

This season Orient was on when that could of been off, and yesterday the game should of been on but due to there gaffa been a fussy a*se hole it was off.

If the games on I think it will be saddlers 1-2 charlton

Ive a gut feeling that the game will be on now.Dont ask me why.But normally when we get a game on when its a doubt we play crap anyway (Orient 1st half) classic example. So on that basis Walsall 1 Charlton 2, Byfield for us.Just hope its on now and they prove me wrong bout the performance! AND result!

Anyone got an idea of when they might inspect the pitch if we continue to get the cold snap? I've looked on the O.S. and there is no mention of how they might handle it this weekend. Hopefully a lesson has been learned and they decide one way or the other early enough in the morning to help with travelling fans. I don't fancy fighting my way down the M6 to only get there and find it is called off again! :x

I think that you mean 1962-63, don't you, STK? No matches played (home or away) between December 16th 1962 and March 1st 1963. We ended up playing 8 matches in April and 4 in May 1963. It was, of course, bloody Charlton who relegated us on goal average on the last game of the season, after we had been reduced to 9 fit players (no substitutes, then).

Well, it has rained (faint drizzle) in WS1 all afternoon and all the snow has gone. Could the match have been played after all?

The pools panel have decided on a home win, more than likely ruining someones happy new year.

Thanks for that. Could`nt remember what year it was, but remember we were frozen solid for 7 weeks, no water and having a farm made it a nightmare for watering all the animals.

Cheers
