Swindon Town (H) League 1 Saturday 19/07/09

Sun Sep 13, 2009 12:45 pm

On Saturday the Saddlers host a Swindon Town side that have started the season very well sitting in a play-off position at 5th.
A look at the hosts start to the season:

Gillingham away - Lost 5-0
MK Dons away - Won 1-4 (league cup)
MK Dons home - Drew 0-0
Southampton home - Won 1-0
Oldham away - Drew 2-2
Wolves away - Drew 0-0 (6-5 on pen to Wolves) League Cup
Southend home - Won 1-0
Yeovil away - Won 0-1
Colchester home - Drew 1-1

With 3 wins 3 draws and just 1 loss The Robins have 12 points and may fancy themselves as contenders for those play-off spots but as we all know it is far too early in the season to be thinking about that.

I fancy us to just about take these by 1 goal to Nil with Deeney getting his 3rd of the season.

I will go with a 2-1 to either team. Who ever gets the first goal will win this game.

Deeney to get 1.

Walsall 1 Swindle Town 0. Parkin with the goal in the last minute, down at the away end. Parkin and Hutchings then sprint to celebrate the goal on their knees in front of Asps.

Blazing to stand outside The Saddlers Club singing The Pigeon Detectives classic "I'm not sorry" :D

Wilson has brought some decent players in for them with an increased budget. There going to do well this season. BUT considering we have huddersfield tuesday night (a team widely expected to be at least in the playoffs) , hartlepool away next saturday ( always a tough place to go ), followed by MK dons away ( top 6 without a doubt ). Im hoping we can take at least a point here. It wont be easy though.

3-2 Walsall.
Goals from.

Nicholls
Mattis
Byfield.

4,745 in attendance.
851 from the south west.

A winnable game for us and a welcome 3 points coming home to the Banks’s this weekend 3-2 to the Saddlers.

It is about time we had a home win. The last time we won at home was six months ago on St Patrick's Day, 17th March. Since then we have played 8 times at Fortress Banks's and we have drawn 3 and lost 5.

Let's hope the water bomb is filled from a tap, but with Evo, who knows?

I think your prediction of the crowd is quite realistic Asps, I thought maximum 4,250-ish.

Me to fail to turn up again, and listen in on the PC.

Saddlers to manage a rare home win 2-1 with a late penalty from Byfield.

Bonser to be on holiday in Cyprus.

think swindon will bring 750-1000,given the fact we have had two very good away results, 4000+ should be realistic

Update from the game, we're playing really well, loads of attacking intent, we could have scored 4.

So far so good, if anything we just need to be more clinical
