Clayton is in Honduras, so we will have Rene Gilmartin in goal for our next two matches. Trinidad and Tobago have matches on Saturday in Honduras and next Wednesday in Port of Spain against the USA.

Grigg isn't involved again apparently which I find very surprising.
Thought this would have been a good opportunity to give some of the fringe players a chance.
Not as if the regular first teamers have been showering themselves in glory is it??!! - Hutchings must be seeing something different to the rest of us.

I think he said on OS that he wants to win the trophy because you get to play at Webley and theres "a big pot of money" at the end of it.

0 - 0 after 17 penalties each so the ref. tosses a coin, which lands on it's edge. Bury to win on the alphabetical rule.
Whalley to sell copies of his new book "Customer Service Made Easy" but fans are put off when they realise to purchase one they need to Queue up outside the ticket office to be handed a cloakroom ticket, then take this ticket to the club shop to obtain an application form. Once this form is filled in (along with 2 passport photographs) then they must go to the club shop in the town (Saturday mornings only) to complete purchase.
The wholse sorry process is brought into chaos when a member of staff realises the cloakroom tickets haven't been ordered and they are now not expected to be delivered until March.

First half a bit better than sat. Maccyd looks good...much bigger thane his dad. Byfield looking lively all still too scared to shoot though. No extra time tonight, just pens if required. Crowd better than I thought, maybe 1500? Hard to tell

Re: Bury (H) J P Trophy 1st Round Tuesday 1/9/09
More urgency than Saturday and we're comfortably on top, although Bury had a couple of efforts on goal near the break. Byfield had a great run but passed instead of shooting. McDonald looks very comfortable, very good indeed.

Crowd 2,300 odd. Quite surprising, but again demonstrates we have some of the best fans in the country.

I'm not there either - but I do have a (free) ticket in my wallet. How much do you want to bet that I've been counted in that official attendance - and quite likely others like me who decided not to bother after Saturday's borefest.

Jones' goal against Southend was a header from a free kick, Nicholls' at Accrington also came from a free kick and the goal against Brighton was an own goal.
None of our players have scored a goal from open play this season!!!

The only goal from open play this season has been the own goal scored by Andrew Whing at Brighton, that was in the 30th minute of our first match. Therefore it is now 600 minutes since Walsall have scored a goal in open play.
And that was an own goal. No Walsall player has scored from open play in any of our seven games this season - 630 minutes of football. And five of those matches were against very poor teams that have had a bad start to the season, two of them in the fourth division.
