Charlton Athletic (A) League 1 Saturday 22/8/09.

Wed Aug 19, 2009 7:39 am

A look at our hosts start to the season,

Wycombe - home - won 2-1- L1
Hereford - away - lost 0-1 -CC
Hartlepool - sway - won 2-0 - L1
Orient - away - won 2-1 - L

Prediction - We'll do very well to take anything out of this , I fear Charlton's %100 league record will remain intact.

As it's my first* match this season, I'm very much inclined to agree!
I bet we'll score first though.

*note Leeds can't tempt me out of hiding, they're not that important.

Charlton 0-7 Walsall
Jockey evo and asps to jump and up and down in spurs shirts in a attempt to wind big baz up. Which works when baz powerbombs evo then asps and then jockey through tables that are next to the burger van.

First game of the season for me, and looking forward to it.

I honestly think we can nick a point, if the defence plays well.

Fair play to walsall for lowing the coach price!

Charlton 1 Walsall 1.

MMF to cause outrage by demanding that a section of the away end be roped off for exclusive use for him and his entourage. :D

Charlton 1-0 Walsall

Big Bazz's emulation of his wrestling heroes to go too far as his muscles explode from steriod abuse, coating the away coach interior.

I'll be hopeful and say a draw. Seriously, i would take a draw from this.

1-1 Parkin to score from 30 yards  I'll give UTS 20 quid if he does that tomorro!

Im setting off from here at 830am for a big greasy fry up and then onto the Valley!

BTW, i got tickets in advance and they still have 'Coca-Cola Championship' signs on them

Just been on the phone to a couple of people at the game.

Clayton Ince's fault for the goal and we haven't had a single shot.

Discuss. :?

According to the commentary we have had two shots, neither on target, but Mick Kearns could not remember either of them them.

If that figure is right then so far this season in three and a half league matches we have had 5 shots on target and now 9 shots off target. That is lowest tally in the division by some way, only Port Vale have made so few in the entire football league.

I know it is early in the season but there must something wrong if we are averaging less than 1.5 shots on target per match.

If the results finish the same as they am now, we will be 15th with 4 points. Charlton will move top with 12 points with Leeds just behind them by goals scored.

I have listened to the proceeding s on Sads World - We haven't really been in it so far. Cricket on telly is good though. Just as I write we have one chalked off for offside :(

As far as the cricket goes what sort of lead would be statistically unattainable for the Aussies to beat. (I understand nothing about cricket but am watching the score).

418 is the highest ever 4th innings run chase. we will be over a 100 more on top.

Thanks. An excellent position to be in I suppose. Winning not guaranteed but statistically highly likely?

Very likely, we will even have 2 or more days to bowl them out also.
