It would be interesting to see what our team was, and how it compared to last night. I presume Mattis, Weston and Ince played alongside Nicholls/Deeney, but who else?

The O/S says that Ince saved the resulting spot kick, though it doesn't say how they scored so maybe they had 2 penalties. :?

It says City took the lead through new signing David Clarkson.

Then in the next paragraph, after we'd took the lead, it says Ince made amends for giving a penalty away by saving it.

Simples.

So based on everyone going crazy after us losing to a Blue Square Prem team last night, can I conclude that we'll win the league because we've beat a Championship team today?

Why behind closed doors?

It's school holidays, open one stand, charge £2 kids and £5 adults.

Brings a little revenue in and a good bit of PR.

Possibly because both clubs wanted to trial players without giving scouts / managers of other clubs chance to see them play?

That being the case, anyone care to speculate who we would have on trial, who have not already appeared in public games?

That's what I was thinking.

Taundry is also on there. Nicholls and Deeney obviously played as they scored. I'm not sure who else featured though (like you, I'm not sure who that young lad is).

On #17 and #18 (the penalty), our left player is Matt Richards.

With regard to this penalty situation.

Am I wrong to think that players, not immediately involved, should
remain outside of the box, until the ball is struck ?

You are correct (as usual :D ) but when was the last time that you saw a penalty-kick taken completely in accordance with the Law? :?

Doesn't playing 'behind closed doors' give clubs the option of using substitutes any way they wish - such as putting players back on who have previously been subbed? This would allow experimenting with formation/personnel that wouldn't be allowed otherwise.

I would assume that no one who played against Mansfield would have started against Bristol City.
So our line up would have been:

Ince
Weston Roberts ????? Jackson
Taundry Davies Mattis ?????
Nichol Deeney

That leaves 2 ????? (trialists) unless Sansara was fit.
Have I missed anyone?

Would also suggest that if they can get Jackson then Vincent will miss out on a contract.
