Well at least 6 or 7 of those could be in the starting XI come a week on Saturday at Brighton. Friendly or not, to be 3-0 down after half an hour to a moderate Blue Square Premier team is pretty appalling.

Appalling is being polite.

Gilmartin is not a good enough keeper at this level.

We have two out of our three main central midfielders [Bradley and O'Keefe] starting.

We have possibly three of a recognised back four [if we do sign Vincent] starting.

It can't be all Rene's fault, surely?

Looking on the bright side, at least we now know the team's a bit, er, lightweight before the season starts. Better this happens now.

I think most people knew that anyway.

Hughes not as good as Gerrard
Till not as good as Zabooub
Jones not as good as Jabo
Parkin not as good as Ricketts

When you enter a new season you hope to be better than the season before, IMHO this season we are not.

9/4 with the bookies for the drop, its tempting
