1-1.
Cheltenham to equalise with a goal in the 95th minute (after the 4th official only signals for 3 additional minutes).
UTS conspiracy theorists blame it on the FBI, MI6, CIA, and Mossad!

2-1 to Walsall Deeney and a Palmer free kick

Didn't say I wouldn't. Just not necessarily got £350 sitting doing nothing right at this moment.

I'll be there, some football will be played and hopefully we will win. Enough of the detailled analysis and on with the prediction.

Hopeful fact: Cheltenham have conceded an injury time equaliser in their last two games.

It was cold , I was bored and as Tinned will verify at one point in the First Half I actually fell asleep!!
What can I say - a lot of hoofing in the first half - little ball control and just boring.
Second we had a few more shots - Palmer - Man of the match  - I presume for his cross for the own goal!
We didnt seem to want to win it enough - the season is over and the players show it.

Spot on. I thought Smith and Gerrard played well, Nicholls had a decent spell in the second half, Zaaboub flitted in and out, ditto Mattis. Thought the front pair offered little, and Hughes and Weston were quite poor.
Craddock had a couple of neat touches.
I'm clutching at straws though. Not a great advertisement for the beautiful game. :(

Blimey, that was hard work.
Thought our support was good today despite the dire football. Perhaps the "JB sells" rumour had started.
My MoTM would have been Smith, but fair play to Palmer, he made the goal and made a great tackle when their bloke was one on on.
One to forget.

dire, really poor, going through the motions stuff
Mannie Smith is coming along nicely and that is the only positive
Most of them were awful
the ref was an idiot and Martin Allen as usual lived up to his billing as a complete c**t

There goal was suberb

I think,Scott THAT is exactly why he got Man Of The Match. It equates to two more decent things than half the team and one more than the other half.
BTW - thought Craddock looked decent when he came on

What about smith and gerrard being solid at the back?, why didnt one of those get it? (i would of gone for smith), mattis got stuck in well now and again, MORE than palmer!

1-1 not a surprise, though I hoped that our makeshift side would have a bit more fight. Time for the kids - make them play for their contracts.

Re: Cheltenham Town (H) League 1 Saturday 28/3/08.
First half, we looked exactly as we did against Bristol Rovers - no better, no worse. Cheltenham were just too poor to take more of an advantage than they did.
I thought Gilmartin could have saved the goal, but won't pile the criticism on until I've seen it again. Either way, it's up to Mattis and Hughes to prevent players having that much time and space in the middle of the park to even have a shot.
Nobody really looked that up for the game. The distribution from both Weston and Palmer was absolutely atrocious. Chris Palmer continues to be the worst footballer I've seen in League One all season.
Smith and Gerrard both had decent games, I thought. The problem with that however, is that their impact on or play is very limited from centre half. Smith was my man of the match, but even he would probably admit that passing isn't his strength.
The midfield were just too 'in and out' right across the park. Zaaboub showed glimpses of danger to their defence, but has a tendency to hold onto the ball for too long. Part of that has to be down to a lack of movement from the strikers (both of whom were pretty ineffective today). Whilst we improved after the break, a better side would have taken advantage of our sloppy passing and punished us.
All in all, we showed a complete apathy towards what remains of this season. Cheltenham reminded me of us the season we went down to League Two - a real makeshift side without any sort of ruthlessness up front. The fact that we were out-played by them during ocassions of that match speaks volumes.
I think Hutchings and O'Connor probably need to start again next season, give or take 2 or 3 of the current bunch.

Re: Cheltenham Town (H) League 1 Saturday 28/3/08.
Typical end-of-season performance from us against an extraordinarily bad Cheltenham team (horrible, horrible goal we conceded). We were reasonable in the second half but lack the killer instinct up front without Ricketts.
Undoubted highlight was Operation Forge.
