Colchester United (H) League 1 Saturday 14/2/09.

Wed Feb 11, 2009 9:48 am

Forget our Leeds cup final , forget the visit of champions elect Leicester this is the one we've been waiting for
the return of Super Jim.

A look at the U's recent form last 6 league games.

M K Dons - away - drew 1-1
Cheltenham - home - won 3-1
Bristol - Rovers - away drew 0-0
Northampton - home - won 2-1
Carlisle - away - won 2-0
Tranmere - home - lost 0-1.

Just 1 defeat in 10 , Colchester are now one place above us in the league with a 5 point gap and with a game in hand.
full away record

Played 14 - Won 7 - Drew 3 - Lost 4 - Goal Scored 27 - Against 24.

The questions are will we find a way past Jimmy , can keep a clean sheet ?
Answer yes and no . 1-1 draw for me.

1-0 us.

Swiftyboy and pleck_saddler to lead a singalong of "Give Peace A Chance" before the match. Plug to be pulled on performance after the F2G stand sells out of balti pies extraordinarily early as they all get thrown at the singers.

Best thing about saturdays game is we're going to get 3 points if we played like we did at Carlisle in the 2nd half

And

Super Jimmy's return for the first time properly since he left Walsall

Personally i for one will be exstatic to see super Jim back at the bescot, its the one thing im looking forward too about the game being one of the younger generation he is my all time hero from my time watching Walsall. At the same time it will be sad seeing him in another teams colours, i know players move on but i had hoped the next time we saw jimmy in competitive action at the Bescot it would be back in our colours, as good as Clayton is Jimmy is a top keeper and a legend! Hope he has a blinder and we win 1-0!

I can feel a double coming on hear with supper Jimmy having an off day and at the full time whistle pulling up his top to show saddlers top underneath his Colchester top getting a standing ovation from the home supporter who have turned out on mass to see him.

Evo to be caught drinking Coke at half time.

Agreed im only 21 and have had a season now since i was 11, Jimmy Walker is the best player ive ever seen to wear the walsall shirt. Pety save away at then prem team Charlton anyone?

And on the game i think we'll sneak it 1-0 in the second half Ricketts to score coming on as a sub.

What a load of rubbish!!!! That will never happen!!!!!

Wacka will more than likely reveal his Walsall colours but there is no way on this little Earth Evo would be seen in public supping a Coke. The very thought .....

1-0 to the Super Saddlers

As it's St. Valentine's Day, Zippy arranges a "kiss and make up" meal out with Stafflers, after the game, in the Bonser Suite.

1-0 Saddlers, on own goal will win it. Super Jim will airkick a backpass allowing it to roll into the net in the 93rd minute. 8)

1-0 to Walsall. Sam Williams with the goal.

Tinned to get confused and sing "Super Jimmy Mullen" by mistake, and Mrs Cheese to be inundated with bouquets of flowers from secret admirers, leading to her being ejected from the ground for setting off the pollen alarms :)

Did jimmy play the other night for Colchester? His loan was up on tuesday. So may have not played tuesday or saturday?

So jimmy might not be coming back! :( Which would be a shame!

WALSALL 1 - 1 COLCHESTER

Platt for them lot, Ricketts for us, Walker to save penalty too, but we'll all forgive him.

To be fair Colchester have picked up a lot since we played them, they were languishing near the bottom weren't they?

They've got a fairly expensive side assembled as well, Platt, Gillespie and Coyne alone cost a total of million quid in transfer fees I think.

Yes, he played the other night. Colchester extended his loan again earlier in the week, so he'll be there until the first week of March now (i.e. for the maximum 93 days).

I wonder if that will put an extra 500/600 on gate, with his return?

A nice thought, but it ain't going to happen. As much as JW was a superb servant to the club, I'd be surprised if it added much more than 50 - if that - to the gate.

I'll take a home win, 2-1 in front of around 3,800 [3,500 of us, 300 of them].

I will applaud Jimmy onto the field but as soon as the whistle goes I hope he has the worst game of his career ending in a dingle style bobble to make it 3-0 to the saddlers.

2-1 win.

Ricketts and an Anthony Gerrard header from a corner.

I watched MK Dons vs. Colchester the other week - Wacka has put on a hell of a lot of weight and has absolutely no spring in his jump anymore. He is one of the finest shot stoppers I have seen full-stop, but I think given our current ability to use wingers effectively we won't be playing to his strengths and he might get caught out.

1-1 Rickets to score
3821
231 from Essex

Having not got used to his high heeled winter boots, Evo to fall over in the Saddlers club then crawl round on all fours singing: -

Me and my heart we got issues,
Don’t know if I should hate you or miss you,
Damn, I wish that I could resist you,
Can't decide if I should leave you or kiss you.
Me and my heart we got issues, issues, issues.
We got issues, issues, issues.

Walsall to run out of soup before half time and Pedro to whip out a BONSER OUT banner from his coat pocket and picket in the middle of the pitch.
