Normal time results through some time ago.
So, unless I've missed something, the Saddlers are playing extra time.
An achievement in itself, if correct.

Apart from the fact that they don't kick off for nearly 24 hours?

At half time, Chelsea were 1-0 up. Goal to Rohan Ince on the stroke of half time.
That's the best I know at the moment. CUMMON WALSALL!

Blimey. Guess their superior fitness and ability saw them through. Would have hoped we could lift ourselves a bit higher than that, with the prospect of Liverpool at Anfield for the winner.

Raise their game! They ,the top four, have the pick of most of the world's youth, and they still have to spend millions to build a near decent team.Well done see some of you in the first team soon or before.

Re: F A Youth Cup 4th Round Chelsea (A) Wednesday 14/1/09.
Quite a few Saddlers fans at Griffin Park tonight ( note for Geordie - no-one answering to the name MMF appeared to be in attendance).
5-1 does not reflect the game at all. First half, we hardly had an attack, but coped very well in defence and midfield. Towards the end of the half, we started to get into their penalty box - Grigg and Craddock working well together - but didn't get the bounce of the ball. Just before half time, a fairly useless corner went through the 6 yard box at c. 4 ft high and found a very surprised Chelsea player at the far post, who promptly passed it into the net.
2nd half, we started to look dangerous, using the wings for the first time in the match. Travis managed to square the ball across the face of the goal but no-one was there to tap it in. One minute later, Chelsea were 2-0 up. Kakuta, I think, went through the centre of the defence without much in the way of a challenge and finished well.
It was then that the Saddlers upped a couple of gears and started to cause a lot of problems to the Chelsea defence. They were convinced that they should have had a penalty when the (fairly inept) Chelsea keeper appeared to bring down a Walsall player in the box - so much so that the aptly named Mr Muge had to stop the game and lecture 4 Walsall players and wave a card.
However, they soon had the goal that they deserved - Big Curly Brown Haired Boy finishing well. At 2-1, the Saddlers continued to push forward and looked dangerous, particularly down the right wing. This meant that we were a bit light at the back for the counter, and we were finished off with a soft 3rd goal in the last 15 minutes. 3-1 would probably have been fair, but Chelsea then scored 2 crackers in the last 10 minutes to give a very lop-sided result.
It was a combative performance with no little skill. We took the game to Chelsea in the 2nd half - the difference between the teams in the end was probably their 2 excellent attacking players, Kakuta and Nouble.
Halsall Out...
of the FA Youth Cup. Well done, Mick and Bill.

It was Grigg who scored the goal not Adkins.
One of them has big curly brown hair and plays as a striker while the other has short blonde hair and plays in midfield so pretty easy to tell them apart. :P
