It sounds like we sat back on our lead too early and have paid the price.

God knows what Wilson said to his monkey hangers at half time but JM has got some serious questions to answer here.

Very disappointing. This result, combined with a wafer thin squad and a paucity of forward cover, suggests that any talk of the Play Off's is simply 'pie in the sky'. Two home defeats in the space of a week, and a manager who, as much as I like him, seems unable to change and adapt tactics during a game.

It's not looking good.

Oh yes, and even with the 'Chuckery Offer', only just over 4,000 to see it.

Will those who were there please tell us (lucky?) exiles how we can chuck away a 2 goal lead and how, with that defence, we can ship 3 goals at home? :(
Our home form is letting us down.
Has the manager really cacked us up again? :?

Dear oh dear.

Im glad I stayed away now. I thought after the Peterboro game last Saturday we could bounce back and win, especially with Leeds and Leiceser coming up. Low and behold our boys take their feet off the gas, sit back for 45 minutes and throw a two goal lead away (at home!)

2 defeats on the trot and this time next Saturday I dont think many will be surprised if its 4 on the trot. Our record against both isnt great.

Oh well at least we have the JPT

Very very disappointing this afternoon. And to make it worse had to watch Jeff Stelling get more and more gleeful!

Mullen has some explaining to do here. How could he not have made changes after the first 10 mins of the second half. It was clearly not working, and to bring Ishy on with two mins to go is frankly insulting.

fuming
few points before i drown my sorrows

Mullen tactically inpet

Palmer = rubbish, gorra gew
Roberts = as above
Mattis, what does he do exactly? I've been wondering for some time, someone tell me
The substitution were all wrong and all at the wrong time

We cannot defend under Mullen and Schofield so why we expect to keep ANYONE out if we sit back is absolutely amazing to me, if the only thing we can do is attack then thats what we must do

Utterly utterly diabaolical

Well there must have been a stark difference between the quality of Danny Wilson's half-time team talk and that of our own (cheap option) Jimmy Mullen. Seems we might now be in the middle of a run of four straight defeats, and not a lot of surprises for me in that.

Well talk about the football cliche of a game of two halves.
Just got back and to concede 3 goals in the manner we did was a disgrace.
Their second goal was quality top drawer and I knew once that one flew in they would score again.
The signs were there at half time - their players obviously had a flea in their ear off Wilson, were out early and looked up
for it. Our lot sauntered out, obviously thinking job done.

We sat back on a 2 goal lead and just didnt attack - they wanted it more. Our heads went down and that was it.
I am concerned about Mullens nous re tactics and particularly subs - Why bring Ishy on with 2 minutes to go - its extracting the michael - reminded me of the Colin Lee end era when he would always leave it too late.

The first 20 mins we were great, but please someone tell them its a 90 min+ game.Mullen cannot say Hartlepool were a good team, they were not - but they wanted it more and it showed. We need to massively improve and quick physically and mentally cos the next 2 away games are as tough as they get.

Shocking. October without league win now seems certain. I can't understand why Demontagnac entered in injury time. Really, I can't :(

We played well for 20 minutes and then just sat back and waited to lose.

Shocking second half defensive performances from the full backs and the central midfielders may have well not been on the pitch.

Totally inept tactics and substitutions from Mullen, he has been totally found out in the last two matches.

The honeymoon is officially over.

MOSOC.

Been at the match 2day and i think roberts is the weakest link! he is also for his height not that good in the air he has a weird jumping action where he doesnt use his arms for leverage which leads to him time and time again gettin beat in the air! mullens substitutions were 2 no effect either!

Mullen fully to blame in my eyes

Obvious from the start of the second half how it was shaping up - Mullen ignored the warnings, just seemed to be watching the game - no instructions being shouted to the team

After 25 minutes of warnings they score - still no action from the sidelines, no change of formation - nothing

They then equalise and have momemtum - Mullen decides to make a like for like change all be it by switching two players by taking off Weston, moving Taundry into right back, and Nicholls on to the wing - WHY ???? is Mullen saying Weston was playing crap and was at fault for the whole teams performance??? or just cause Taundry had gone off the boil felt that the right wing was the biggest area of concern - neither of these were the case

it was plain to see the game was being lost in the middle of the park - surely it would have been better to take Jabo / Ricketts off who were by this stage spectators due to lack of service - bring on Bradley and pack out the midfield with just Jabo / Ricketts upfront on their own - this should have been done 10 minutes into the half - he could then have switched back to two up front if he wanted with the inclusion of Ishy or with Deeney if we needed to

He then brings on Bradley for Deeney - another like for like change - not trying to change the game - and then waits till the dying stages to bring Ishy on

Mullen is fully to blame for todays result - no idea how to change the game which Wilson did so successfully

Reminded me of the Merson days I am so sorry to say - when things are going well it is great - but when they go wrong there is no thought on how to make it better :(

I'm afraid not, it was down to us

Why are you not surprised? You dont go

If we had attacked 2nd half Hartlepool we won have walked it

Hartlepool are a very very bad team
