Peterborough United (H) League 1 Saturday 11/10/08.

Sun Oct 05, 2008 9:31 am

Our visitors last 6 league league games.

Scunthorpe - away - lost 0-1
Hartlepool - home - lost 1-2
Bristol Rovers - home - won 5-4
Northampton - away-drew 1-1
Tranmere - home - drew-2-2
Leeds - home - won 2-0

Posh are sitting 9th in league 1 on 14 points from 9 games , Darren Ferguson's side will be very confident following the 2-0 victory against Leeds a game that former Saddlers Chris Westwood and Dean Keates played no part in.

The First of 2 home games followed by the 2 toughest away games of the season .
Prediction
2-1 to the Saddlers

can't see anything than a home win , Roberts gets better with each game and if we stop Boyd and that Mackrel - Smith or whatever he calls himself , I see win for the lads ..!!!

3-2 to us. I think we'll need to score a couple to win. But I think we will. Their 5-4 victory over Bristol Rovers the other week showed their firepower and their leaky defence. Could be a load of fun - if we end up on the right side of it!

Seeing as you're slating him on almost every thread, when did you last see Gilmartin play? Or is this all based on what people who saw him at Hednesford told you?

Exactly!

Okay, I only saw him play against Boldmere but he made a couple of fine saves. Not saying he is or isn't good enough for league footy but the barrage of abuse of a player that last played a first team game x number of years ago baffles me.

The thing with keepers is that a lot of their game is about confidence. If everytime the ball goes towards him the whole crowd groan then he will lose confidence, the defence will lose confidence and the attack will gain the upper hand. Personally I don't think he is a bad keeper, he just never gets the chance to prove himself because of the brick wall that is Clayton.

Got a bad feeling about Saturday, but I'll stick me head out and say 2-2. Taundry thunderbolt, and a last minute o.g from Keates, in front of the Gilbert Stand, and he duly gets mobbed by the massed Saddlers.

Stafflers to make his halftime announcements in the style of Dev off of Coronation Street :D

Boro played their best available players tonight, and got beaten by Dagenham.

Think there could be a few goals in the offing. This is one we need to win, along with the Hartlepool game to put us in a healthy position before Leicester and Leeds.

by letting in 3, he cant claim corners and flaps far too much, criag makail-smith for them has 8 goals thats as many as jabo and ricketts put together, i fear the worst there going to create chances through him.

Peterborough will be without their two main central defenders apparently..... and Westwood (who would normally step into that position) "went jogging on Sunday and felt his calf" - well, there's no accounting for taste, is there???

It has to be a Saddlers win, specially now we have a full squad available - I'll go 3-1 Walsall, but still a disappointing attendance of 4,670...... Ibere (2) and Ricketts for us, o.g. for the Posh.

Ive seen him play a few times for Hednesford, and ive seen him twice in the ressies.

He's bollocks, im sure hes a great lad, but id rather stick me dead gran in goal frankly.

But for the record, i wont boo him, i may wince when a ball comes near him but he wont hear it, and i would love for him to make me eat humble pie in my fat gob.

I wo hold me breath though.

2-2

Poshing are missing Morgan and Zakauni from the back , and Keates is out from Midfield I think.

Mackail -Smith double and Ibhere and Reich for us ( again, if he's playing)

5023 in attendance, with a healthy turnout from the Fens people.

"Unfortunately for Ferguson junior he will be sending out a patched-up Posh side at the Bescot Stadium with Charlie Lee and Kieran Charnock expected to form a new, and small, central defensive partnership against two powerful, and big, strikers."

Hopefully Jabo & Ricketts can out battle these pair and get the goals we need!

Up The Super Saddlers!

Got a good feeling about this one 3-1 to the Saddlers - 1054 less people there than there should be.
