Bristol Rovers (A) League 1 Saturday 13/9/08.

Sun Sep 07, 2008 10:59 am

The pirates start to the season.

Carlisle -home - lost 2-3
Brighton -away -drew 1-1
Hereford - home -won 6-1
Leeds -away - drew 2-2
Peterborough -away - lost 4-5

A return of 5 point from 5 games sees Rovers sitting 15th in league 1 , talking of returns how nice would it be to see the Saddlers return to grinding out the odd goalless draw .

1-1 Ricketts to score a late equaliser .

I will be attending as I have to drop off the kids in South Wales pre-match. I am a lucky charm, therefore we will only lose by the odd goal or two

There will be goals. Not sure how many for us though. I'm going for a hard-earned and quite possibly very fortunate 2-2 draw. Ibehre with both for us.

2-2 in an entertaining match, Reich and Hughes for us. Lambert (2) for them

5-0 rovers , i seriously see that coming on, they have goalscorers galore. We have a weak defence, especially if gerrard goes out on loan, or roberts get injured/ isn't fit. We really need, mattis, weston, ricketts, hughes, roberts to all be fit. Will zaaboub get a game? How long is it going to be before his attitude stinks.

If the team we play is as follows

Ince
weston
gerrard
roberts
boertien
reich
mattis
hughes
ishy
ricketts
jabo

Then i have some minor hopes we may be able to sneak a classical away point. But im not hopeful at all.

There's been less rain than last time we were down there. Think I might just have (finally) dried out from then by Saturday - just in time to get soaked all over again!

Don't stop at a 'big cuddle', if the queue at Edgar Street is anything like last time we played there, you'd have time for the yga wedding, honeymoon and child adoption by the time you get to the turnstiles.

I have a feeling I'm going to see my first Walsall defeat at The Mem. 3-1 to Gas and 450 of us. Duffy and Lambert will both score, even though paying transfer fees is apparently "a mugs game" and totally pointless when you can always get unattached players/free transfers that are just as good .

You can get a team that's just as good. Rovers have excellent strikers and nothing else because once they'd paid for the strikers they had nothing left for the rest of the team. They're currently below us in the table and have won one game out of five.

I suspect that tomorrow's game will be a lot like the Southend one the other week - and that ought to suit us. It could go either way, but I'll go for a 3-2 win for the Saddlers.
