Half 7 kick off on Church Road. Nearest train station is Wylde Green - direct from my station up here in Brum, instead of changing at New St 8)
May just be making the trip

I know that. Are we still sponsored by Highgate Brewery though?

Re: 30/7/08 - Boldemere (a)
We won 2-1 after going behind. Chadwick & Deeney (yes, I did say Deeney) scored. Nice to see Boertein get a game. Also surprised to see such "big" names as Ricketts & Demontangac.
What a thoroughly friendly club Boldmere are. From the pleasant welcome at the gate where they let the kids in for free to the club steward ushering the kids onto the pitch to shake the Walsall players hands at half time. Sucha refreshing change from the 'wring out every penny' mentality at our home.

Boldmere 125th Anniversary Match
Boldmere St. Michael's 1 2 Walsall XI
Walsall (4-4-2)
Rene Gilmartin
Darryl Westlake
Manny Smith (Captain)
Daniel Piorkowski
Paul Boertien (Tom Schwarz, 55 min.)
Josh Craddock (Harry Harris, 55 min.)
Michael Ricketts (James Travis, 72 min.)
Keegan Ayre
Ishmel Demontagnac (Hassan Bacchus, 70 min.)
Nick Chadwick
Troy Deeney
Unused Substitute:-
Tom Cox (gk)
Managers:- JM, JS & EM
Goal Log
50 min. - 1-0 - Boldmere right-winger cut inside Boertien with ease and scored with a shot inside Gilmartin's far post.
55 min. - 1-1 - Craddock worked well down the right and crossed for Chadwick to force the ball home at the second attempt.
61 min. - 1-2 - A similar goal when Harris crossed from the right for Deeney (yes, Deeney!) to score with a powerful shot.
The Mikes generally had the better of a goalless first half against quite a strong Walsall XI. Indeed, they would have led but for two fine saves from Gilmartin (who had a very good game - at last!). Taking a deserved lead, Boldmere finally prompted the visitors to step up a gear and two very similar goals in the space of six minutes clinched a Saddlers' win.
Defence:- Gilmartin played well; it was good to see Boertien finally in action - he did o.k., apart from the Boldmere goal; Westlake, Smith and Schwarz were sound enough; Piorkowski did little wrong but is he any better than what we already have? Probably not.
Midfield:- Ayre still looks talented but far too lightweight for English football; Ricketts strolled around, getting some useful match practice; Ishy was busy but nothing special; Craddock and Harris each laid on a goal; Bacchus and Travis weren't on the field long enough.
Attack:- Deeney struck his goal well and that was about it, really; Chadwick - the jury's still out for me but he hasn't turned in a performance that says "You must sign me!"

Can you imagine trying to take a loaf of bread inside the Banks's's's's? They'd confiscate it in case you eat it instead of buying some over-priced pies
I thought you'd have been quicker off the mark at the final whistle to try and catch up with the WAGS :P
