I agree, could have easily been played. Christmas money for the ref me thinks.

I agree... and there was no way it would be "Frozen" until well into the night. My guess is the ref didn't fancy it. Still, it saves the embarrassment of a sub 3000 gate which I am sure it would have been!

Can you imagine a game in the 70's being called off for that? Apparently the ref said that he was concerned for the players safety in case snow came off the ball and went in their faces. For once I agree entirely with Mullen, for that to happen the ball would've had to be kicked into the air thus shaking off any nasty, dangerous snow.
I bet that ref was a school head teacher. Probably banned conkers as well

Who was the ref? He must be a complete plonker! Btw, thanks for the message, Steve - I was able to forestall North Staffs Saddler North of Lichfield.

Glad I sped through five counties and hurled my family past dozens of gritters and various other contraptions to be told the game was off.
If it had been a normal game for me i.e. a 2 mile jaunt, it would bloody well have been on.
Poo!

It better not be as I've got to drive 120 miles to get there.
Somehow can't see it though - unless you're having a real blizzard that's leading to drifts several feet high rather than the very wet stuff that's not really sticking that I suspect. I can't remember the last time that a game at Bescot was postponed - and I can't see a few flakes in October making this the first.

Town's evening was made worse with the Team Coach forced to pull over on the return trip down the M5 with a replacement coach called out to ferry the squad back to The County Ground.

The first of 3 very winnable home games that could shape the rest of our season .
Swindon are sitting 15th in League 1 on 15 points , we are now 13th on 18 points
No excuses a game we simply must win .
Walsall 3-0 Swindon.
