Re: Leeds United (h) 29/1/09
I doubt that team will start the game either. And in normal circumstances, I wouldn't want it to - bringing 4 players straight into the team who have barely kicked a ball for at least a month is hardly ideal. It shows how weak the rest of our squad is though.
I really can't see us winning this one, as much as I'd love us to.
2-0 to them.

If we play like we did Tuesday i think 2-0 is a conservative estimate and we'll be hammered :( :(

Re: Leeds United (h) 29/1/09
Really don't want to think about the score. Think it's gonna be a battering. Really hope we can fluke the draw like they did in the corresponding fixture lat season, but it is mainly just that. Hope.
King Crimson to miss most of the match queueing for a latte caramel macchiato and a bag of falafels :)

I fear two batterings in the next two games with a total conceded of 7 goals we may score 2.

5-0 Leeds  I am fearing the worst, but come on Walsall! Please prove me wrong. I'd be delighted with a point

1-1
An ill-deserved point, 93rd minute goal scored by Leeds old boy, Ricketts (who kisses the badge in front of the away end).
Then I woke up. :(

I expect we will not win. I expect we will be out numbered, I expect we will be out-sung, I expect we will get annoyed about having to walk all the way around the ground after the game, I expect the stewards will be cacking it, I expect JB will be the happiest in the ground at the increased takings, I expect the pies will run out too.

Re: Leeds United (H) Our Cup Final Saturday 29/01/09
Walsall 5 - 2 Leeds
Walsall's new regime get's their first win in style as an explosive encounter livens up the Pension Stadium. Palmer, fresh from signing his new contract, has his best game in a Walsall shirt leaving the Leeds bench kicking themselves on why the didn't sign such an immense talent. Deeney cracks in two great strikes whilst Ricketts, Hughes and Mattis add the others as Walsall's display of total football leaves Leeds reeling before a late rally from the Yorkshire side.
As the fans leave the ground, a little Leeds lad will turn to his flat capped father and say 'Dad, what happened today?'
The father looks at his son and smiles ' son, sometimes in life a lesson is handed out that hurts, but in the long run it does you good'
meh.

A battling 3-1 defeat, in front of 8,200-ish. We will outnumber them crowd-wise, although it probably will not feel like it :( .

Walsall 0 Leeds scum 4
Im glad im a stay away, as not only could i not stomach watching us get battered, i also couldnt stomach seeing us outnumbered, outsung, and outclassed in our own backyard.
Beckford will have a field day against our defence

Walsall 3 - 2 Leeds United.
Jabo to score a last minute winner to send the fans on the pitch, whilst accidently kicking and elbowing Palmer in the midst of jubilation.

Just as well you're not going then, for all our sakes.
I'm relishing it. Walsall fans have a history of upping our game in the face of swelled numbers and noise. Remember when Blackpool came for a promotion party and also filled two sides of the ground? A meaningless fourth division game took on extra significance and we roared the lads to victory. The fans will be the same tomorrow and whether we're man to man marked by Leeds fans or even if they outnumber us we'll each do our bit and regardless of what happens on the pitch, in the boardroom or in the Mediterranean, we'll each be able to say "I was there and thank God I support Walsall and not them"

Hear, hear. Bring a few of those Anthony Gormley statues in your avatar from Crosby to swell the numbers.
And maybe put one at left back.

What's with all the doom merchants?
Granted if it was Tuesday night against Leicester, which should I add will most likely be postponed, then I could understand the pessimism, but Leeds are hardly the "force" they were last season.
I'm going for a 2-2 draw.
