Well that should keep the Happy Clappers clapping.
I wonder what Hartlepool versus Walsall was like in August 1959? I have one of my visions, JPD heading north in an Austin A40 like the opening titles of Heartbeat.

I say 2-1 to Hartlepool I'm afraid. However, even with a win, I can't see how anyone could look past Leroy Rosenior when it comes to Manager of the Month.
Keeping them up would have been a remarkable achievement in its own right, to keep them up after being 6pts behind safety with 5 games to go is even more impressive. So although he hasn't kept them up yet, I'd have thought he was favourite for MOTM.

You won't be surprised to here that I reckon that your run is about to come to an end - although much depends on which side turns up. Last week's defeat was poor, apparently there was a bug going through the squad although I think that was only part of it. We have a tendency to believe our own publicity, fall down to earth with a bump - but then bounce back again.
We haven't been thrashed at home, although we did lose 6-4 against Wrexham in one of the most bizarre games I've ever seen - we created (even scored) enough to win with ease, but with a defence that seemed to have fallen asleep (and was lacking three out of four first choices) we conceded pretty much every chance that Wrexham had. 1-0 up, 3-1 down - then 4-2, got it back to 4-4 with less than 10 minutes left and got caught twice on the break while going for the winner (and then equaliser). I doubt we'll be anything like as generous tomorrow.
All the best after tomorrow, I have a soft spot for the Saddlers - I was born in Bloxwich and lived in Willenhall before moving to the North-East at 10 years old, and my first League match was at Fellows Park - v Cardiff with Buckley as Player/Manager in the early 80s! Also, I see what Walsall have achieved over the last decade or so as an encouragement to clubs like Pools - if you can make it to Div1, there's no reason why Pools can't even if staying there is always a struggle.

Cheers from me also, but there is a chance you could be in for a shock tomorrow.
If we play to our capabilities no-one in this league can touch us. Unfortunately we've only managed that about 4 times all season!
However, I will be very disappointed if we don't come close having played so well at times during the last 3 games. In Joachim, we have a player that even the better defences in this league cannot live with. Don't want to sound ingenuous but if we play as we can it won't matter what Hartlepoool team turns up.
Agree, I hope you do well in the play-offs and keep the flag flying for the smallers clubs, and in my case the North-East.
2-1 Saddlers.
