I'm not going to jump the gun. OK the win against Hull was brilliant but they had nothing to play for, but if i remember correctly Hartlepool have a playoff position to maintain. Could be tougher than meets the eye?

I'll give my prediction later on... 8)

You shouldn't jump the gun and wait until the Friday match preview! I'll give you a clue, though, look at their home record - it's the only thing that's kept them in the play off places.

Like everyone else in this league Hartlepool are rubbish.

Just well organised, fit and play to a system that suits their limited personnel. If we carry on in the vein of recent performances we will win. There sill isn't a squad in this division that I would swap for ours, 2-1 Walsall in the manner of denying Blackpool promotion under Nichol.

About 50 years back in time.

im going for a 1-1 draw..and thats a decent result, we could nick it 2-1 if JJ is on fire again.

Hartlepool badly need to win this game.

Then we will beat Stockport 3-0

That means we would finish with 58 points.

Way below what we all thought, but the last few weeks have given us some encouragment for next season.

No that's sticking to it. You can do my gaff in 3.45 from Walsall and Hartlepool is way down south from me. Take the A1 to Thirsk and then jump on the A19, its a doddle.

I suggest everyone has a good look round at the Vic next week and then remembers they are looking for a second successive year in the play-offs at this level. Just makes you realise how far short we have pulled up this year with no excuse whatsoever.

Their home record was excellent for most of the season Neil but I'm sure recently its been poor apart from their 3-0 win against Wendy. I think they lost 3 on the trot at home including a big 5 or 6-0 loss to someone?

I think we'll be full of confidence and might even snatch a win but I think maybe a draw. 1-1 or 2-2.

As I predicted a defeat versus Swindon and Hull, I'll say 3-0 Hartlepool.

As this game's now become meaningless for us, whilst it's very important for the monkey hangers, I predict a ripsnorter of a game for the 'Pool, and a tight win for them, 3-2 against the new, improved Walsall.

A point would be very acceptable - 3 would be great - to end the season with 5 straight wins would be an amazing turn around after the awful Torquay match, and a real lift as we look forward to next season.

Or am I being just a bit too presumptious assuming that we'll beat Stockport on the last day ? :?

Hartlepool - checked my SatNav this evening - nice cyber-lady spoke unto me, saying my route would be 170 miles - that's from my home (near Chasewater) - and a journey time of 2 hours 45 mins. I think I'd have to allow at least another 15 minutes on a Saturday morning, then again I guess the thing assumes I'll be staying at the speed limit, so I can probably make that 15 minutes up.

Sounds OK to me, now all I need to decide is whether my workload can stand me having a third consecutive Saturday off. My head says "No" but I hope that by Friday I can persuade myself that the answer should be "Yes" ! :D

Guess it will be pay on the day - anybody know for sure, please ?

We've kept clean sheets in the last 3 games yet everyone tips Hartlepool to score - why?

Geoff - I may well be wrong, of course, but I am sure I saw somewhere that the Hartlepool game was all-ticket for visiting fans. I suggest you check it out. Hopefully, I have mixed it up with another game!

JPD would I be correct to assume that the last time we got maximum points at Hartlepool(s) Cliff Richard was number one in the hit parade with "Livin' Doll"?

Saturday's defeat was their first in six games. They're getting over their wobble.

You bet your sweet life I won't trust him Leamore.

Where were we mate, just passing Leeds weren't we if I remember correctly, when the voice came from the back seat - "you'll never guess what I've forgotten!"

Have to say though, I was impressed by the guy in the Sunderland ticket office. Do you reckon our very own Mr Whalley would have authorised the issue of replacement tickets in the same circumstances?

Nice day out too mate, even though we lost !
