Bradford (a) - League - 11th December 2004

Wed Dec 08, 2004 8:46 am

Ok how we gonna do in this one?

They are 5th in the table, but not with the best home form, played 10, won 5, drawn 2, lost 3, but then we all know how bad our away form has been.

Hopefully Matty Fryatt will get a start, but who would you drop for him?

That's an easy one, got to be Birch. From what I've read he had an absolute nightmare of a game last night. Maybe Robinson might get to take his place on Saturday.

Doffer Here,

My gut feeling, is that Birch could well struggle to get a bench position for the remaining part of the season.

If Robinson impresses, then it"s him with either Jorge or Matty in my view.

That will then result with one of the above three being on the bench.

No room for Birch other than thru injury

Just to throw something into the equation - Robinson scored on his debut for Rushden in the FA Cup First Round against - guess who?

Bradford City!

Will Merse consider the away performance at Stockport, or at Orient? My guess is, keep it tight again.

If Merse has half a brain, he'll both strikers on the bench as they all offer something different.

Personally, I think we'll lose 3-0.

Not sure about a win, but there is no way we'll lose 3-0. A draw would be a good result for me.

We seem to be playing them at the right time as they've dropped away a bit in recent weeks, however I can't see our away form ever improving so I fear a defeat. Why not 3-0 SuperDon? They've scored goals for fun this season against better defenced than ours.

If we can sneak a win then we'll only be 2 points behind them which I'd have take a few weeks ago.

Come on you Saddlers!

My positive side say we'll have a draw.
1-1 or 2-2.

My negative side say that we loose.
2-1

Home record worse than ours, top scorer out injured, lost two of their last three games, goal difference of nil despite their position on the table. They're hardly on fire at the moment, and ought to be there for the taking.

1-0 to them it is, then :)

Doffer Here,

Merson reckons that jorge is always one of the 1st names on the team sheet, if that is correct:

Then I reckon he will start with Jorge & Matty, with Robinson on the bench - NO room for Birch then?

We have 4 strikers, unless jorge goes into midfield, there is no way we"ll have 2 strikers on the bench - will we??

A thoughtful Doffer.

We will have two strikers on the bench, plus one defender and one midfielder. Just a feeling!

Sorry, Zippyzip - was sent that one and it's the only one I have. There's a shedload of sites about Rainbow though and you should be able to crib a photo from one of them.

Try:

Or
http://zippysrainbow.tripod.com/

Plenty more if you dogpile it (I hate google for brit-based searching)

Cheers

I'm going for a 2-1 win for us. Optimistic maybe, but I have a good feeling.

Acording to Sportinglife anyway, no defenders on the bench.

Shame to concede so late on but it's still a good result.
I'm sure most supporters would have taken a point before kick-off.
Robinson scored on his debut, wonder how he played?

Good result bearing in mind how disrupted the team was with losing Fryatt and then losing Roper, espeically as Roper's injury saw 3 positional changes.

Sounds as though missed chances haunted us yet again, but I'd have taken a point before hand so its pleasing.

Sounds like Robinson isn't up to much, mind you can't complain as he took his goal well apparently. Although they did mention his lack of a first touch and his lack of common sense with regard to the offside trap.

I'm pretty pleased with a draw in this game but when you look at the other results we had advanced 4-5 positions in the table if we had won.

But I think most of us had predicted a draw or a defeat so i suppose most of us here is quite pleased and it looks like we played quite good football.

A bit disappointing to concede the equaliser so late on, but given the injury situation and re-shuffle when Roper went off, I guess we can't be too disappointed.

I would certainly have been happy with a point before the game, so it's not a bad result.

Anybody watching the Millers vs Sheff Utd? Sheff Utd 2-0 up just into the 2nd half, scored a perfect 3rd goal but had it disallowed by a crazy linesman's decision, then typically Millers went up the other end and got one back immediately. Now it's level at 2-2.

Another important incorrect decision swinging results ?

Would have taken a 1-1 draw before the game, so relatively pleased with the result.

Its incredible what a run of a few good results can do, even Franksy was cutting Merson some slack today!

How did the team play? Any team ratings?
