Preview now on line. Predictions? I've given up. I said lose, as that means we'll win.

It seems that my team needs me, so I will be attending my first away match since the Playoff Final.

This poor away form stretching back over the last few seasons - I'm sure you all just haven't been trying hard enough!
No slacking this time please.

Walsall to win 3-2.

Blimey Warsaw, thats desperate. Why the no away shows?

Think we'll get a draw, 2-2. Surman and Fryatt to score.

In the sixty's I think Walsall 1984,his name was John Savage, had massive hands could pick a ball out of the air with one hand, but anything on the ground would beat him, could'nt get down quick enough, anyone else remember him.Back to the present Walsall to win 2-1,Fryatt to score both.

My available football budget goes on season tickets for 2 adults & 2 children. I couldn't afford the minimum 50 quid that taking them all to an away match would cost.

This Vale game is something along the lines of a birthday treat.

I'm not sure the kids will see it that way. The delights of Burlsem!

No wonder you're so positive if you haven't had to endure many away games. I hope you're our lucky charm for tomorrow mate.

Very clever Exile, a Bishop Desmond 2-2, but I'd prefer a 2-3 to be honest. Can't see it happening though, I think even the draw will be beyond us as PV need the points as much as us, and they'll be fired up and determined to get 'em. I doubt if we can match them for spirit and determination - we rarely seem to match anybody in that respect these days - but I live in hope.

Saddler Jim, yes I remember John Savage, I still recall how high he used to kick the ball with those kicks out of his hands. I remember him getting sent off, at Elm Park I believe, when he tried to do the same to a Reading player!

I hate to be pessimistic but I can see the Vile beating us probably 2-0. I really hope I'm wrong as I have a mate who supports Port V**e and if they beat us I will get back what I dished out after the first game of the season.

WM commentator on Saddlers World, just before the second half is due to start, moaning to someone on the other end of his connection, presumably someone back at the studio :

"Oh God John, have I gorra watch another 45 minutes of this?"

Sounds like a good game - NOT!

1 - 0 down, Mick Kearns described it as a poor free kick into the box, and we just gave the goal away by ropey defending - bloody 'ell !

It's not even funny anymore, it simply cannot go on. Just heard on the radio that we are second best all over the park.

Even Paul sit on the fence Franks says "Merson ain't gotta clue". Couldn't have put it better myself

Unfortunately I was exactly right with the scoreline. Where do we go from here? The only way would appear to be down.

Trouble is now, if Bonser does get rid of Merson it would be a case of too late, exactly as he did last season with Lee. All we can do now is keep our fingers crossed and just hope that we don't go down. Nice guy Merson might be but he just aint got it as a manager.

I called time on away games north of Walsall after the joke at Blackpool and I feel completely justified. I just feel sorry for the 780 who made the trip today.

I just don't know how much longer this can go on. Merson will quite clearly not resign and is he really earning that much that Bonser can't sack him before his contract is up?

Last 17 matches, including today

P17 W3 D4 L 10 F16 A27 Pts 13...

13 pts from the last possible 51.
3 goals scored in our last 7 matches.
6 goals conceded in the last 3 matches.

The only reason we'll stop up is because of the complete shiteness of those below us, Torquay lost again today, Oldham conceded a last minute goal to draw at home to Luton, Wrexham threw away a 2-0 lead to lose 4-2, Peterboro got tanked last night.

If Merson hasn't got the balls to resign and we're really that skint we can't afford to sack him, then we're in a sorry state.

As Stu rightly says, what will keep us up (probably) is the absolutely useless teams below us, thank God that other results ultimately went reasonably in our favour today. It could have been a lot worse this evening, thankfully Wrexham lost a 2-0 lead and Oldham conceded an equaliser to Luton in the 90th minute, while Torquay got tanked, as did Peterborough last night.

After last week's awful performance, quite a few "happy clappers" were still saying we played well enough to have deserved something from the game. Well ... er.r.r.r ... NO! Up front we show absolutely NO punch whatsoever, as demonstrated categorically by Stu's stats, 3 goals in the last 6 games. The commentary suggests the same applied today. But fortunately we still have a 7 point cushion even after Vale leapfrogged over us to drop us into 18th.

So where do we go from here? Last week I said I could not see where the next win is coming from, and tonight I still feel the same. I have ZERO confidence in our ability to beat Oldham next week, and ZERO confidence that Merse can motivate this lousy bunch of under-achievers that have the nerve to wear the Saddlers shirt.

I just can't find any more words to describe my disgust at this result today, and I can't face the idea that we could actually find ourselves going down again if this clown doesn't get a few decisions right for a change.

Daryl Taylor started today - why, where's the justification for that ?

Kris Taylor dropped to the bench today - why, where's the justification for that ?

Michael Standing dropped to the bench - why, where's the justification for that ?

Neil Emblen brought on as sub about 10 mins from the end - and there was me thinking we were 2-0 behind, not in front! - why, where's the justification for that ?

Atieno did more, won more ball and looked more dangerous in 15 minutes last week than Jorge and Matty did in the whole game, and he earned the right to start today - but no! I'd call it a joke, but nothing is funny any more - how can Merse justify leaving Atieno out today and how can he justify playing Matty and Jorge ahead of him after the team has managed just 3 goals in 6 games ?

Unreal, totally unreal, how long will this be allowed to carry on before we get someone in who can pick and motivate a side ??
