Does that mean I won't be able to park next to you, Steve.

Makes me feel special parking next to the site sponsor.

I need to get out more. :(

Indeed - I am worried about the amount of times you bump my car with yours - I shall be in "paid for" parking tonight

I'm sure we can expect no favours tonight so we need to be up for it from the start. Hopefully our last couple of performances will have instilled some much needed confidence in the lads and we can pick up the 3 points we need. A repeat of the atmosphere against Tranmere will no doubt help and I will be there to "get behind the lads."

Anyway, back to the thread purpose, 2-1 saddlers, Sonko and Betsy.

Got to keep the faith, otherwise the last games of the season will become meaningless! :?

0-1 - Lambert. Listening to it on BBC Bristol and it does'nt sound great. Seems like we have just woke up after conceding.

Awwwww nuts. Well, we'll have to do it the hard way and really earn this one now. Leeds are now down to 10 men so could be a tough night for them at the Galpharm so we really must get the 3 points ourselves.

Come on boys!

Seems we have the delight of Tony Cottee reporting for Sky tonight from the Banks' (seem to remember he's been there a few times over the past few seasons for them). Looked pretty empty in the F2G middle and upper behind him. :?

Apparently our ref has a record of being pretty fluid with the red and yellow cards - 10 reds in his last 30 matches! Hope this doesn't haunt us tonight.

Half time score : Saddlers 0 - Bristol Rovers (aka the Gasheads) 1.

Looks like DD will have to pep up the players during the half time interval and since it's 0-0 in the West Yorkie grudge match between Huddersfield and Leeds (since they're down to 10 men). Vitally improtant that we get the equaliser and go on to win the match.

C'mon Saddlers!

Mooney coming close to getting the equaliser. Hopefully that goal will come asap. Yep Exile and interesting double substitution. Seems like the Gas have been on the back foot so far in the 2nd half.

It's interesting you say that, because BBC Bristol are saying Rovers are "pretty comfortable" and Walsall are adopting "hit and hope tactics". They did say that Betsy was having a good game though.

Leeds down too. Cummon Walsall. Six minutes might not be enough now. The Pirates sound very organised at the back.

Meanwhile Huddersfield are winning 1-0 against their near neighbours and the team that they absolutely hate i.e. Leeds! With both teams down to ten men. Mooney misses again with a shot from 12 yards.

Yep the chance to get into the play-offs are hanging by a slim thread and it's FT and at the Galpharm Stadium and Huddersfield have just beaten Leeds 1-0! Still the a 4 point gap between The Saddlers and that last play-off spot.

Not surprisingly the Rovers commentators said they deserved it. Maybe if we did not wait until the last 20 minutes to start playing we may have got something, even possibly go on to win it. Still, no cutting edge upfront and an apparent lack of creativity in midfield along with not reinvesting sufficient funds in the right places after the sale of Dann in particular has truly cost us. Threadbare squad, too. Still I'm looking forward to the investment next season

And what, exactly, is the point of McDermott? Admittedly I was listening to t'other side, but his name was not mentioned in any passage of play whatsoever.

Desperate news from what sounded like a really gutsy performance.

In the end, we have been undone by a lack of quality, especially, infact painfully obviously, up front.

Without going down the recent well worn arguments of who is to blame it is without doubt, entirely self-inflicted, and a real shame.

Leeds, since the departure of Poyet have been below mediocre, yet we have gifted the cheats from Elland Road what should have been our play-off spot. We looked the gift-horse in the mouth, then when it came back round for a bit of nostril play we extracted its dentures and patted it on its way.

Brave little Walsall done their best, and maybe when we've finished patting ourselves on our back for being so well run and talking up next season we can also face the uncomfortable truth that we have blown a massive opportunity to make the play-offs, raise the profile of the club, and possibly even lose our tag as one of the clubs never to have played at Wembley.

Maybe when we might even look at how we could have done things differently given our time over again, so as not to in future make the same glaringly obvious mistakes. :?:

Still mathmatically possible, still hope (isn't there always?), still a massive sense of self-inflicted underachievment.

Well done DD and the players by the way, by and large you have done us proud this season, and the youngsters have been fantastic, just a shame they didn't get the help they so desperately needed.

The Rovers commentary mentioned this too. I personally can't wait for the season to end now. The fact that Leeds lost just makes the feeling worse. Anyone who thinks we still have any possibility of getting to the PO's now probably also thinks Boris Johnson would do a good job as the Mayor of London.

A travesty? where on earth did you get that info from? Not having a go at you mate, but the source.

That was possibilly the worst performance of the season that I have seen.

Complete long ball *****. I am absolutely livid. All we did was pass the ball to Weston who HOOFED it forward to massive beast defenders to head back. No ideas, no ambition: we got played off the park and they should have won 4-0 easily.

Did you know we had no shots on target all game? I can think of none in the second half at all, other than wild long range dross.

How anyone can seriously believe that side we put out today is a play off contender needs to go and see a shrink.Gutting, total drivel. If thats what are going to see next season then we will get relegated.

We are a fantastically well run club though.

Listened to only the second half, admittedly, but Mick (ha, ha, I see the problem now!) said it was very positive. Lots of pressure, plenty of corners, but as I said above, no end product. If there had been we'd have been good for at least the draw.
