Walsall 3 0 Joke Sh***y
Played at Tamworth F.C.
Attendance:- Approx. 100 (est.)
Walsall (4-4-2)
Rene Gilmartin
Richard Taundry
Manny Smith (Capt.)
Tom Schwarz
Hassan Bacchus
David McDermott
Charlton Davies
Alessane N’Dour
Netan Sansara
Stefan Moore
Ishmel Demontagnac (Harry Harris, 85th min.)
Unused Substitutes:-
Richard Davies
Josh Craddock
Darryl Westlake
Joel Skeldon (gk)
Managers:- Jimmy Mullen & Eric McManus (with Dicky Dosh in attendance)
Goal Log:-
8th min. – 1-0 – Moore bundles the ball over the line, in a crowded goalmouth.
24th min. – 2-0 – Diddy Dave crosses from the right for Ishy to volley home a cross-shot with his left foot.
73rd min. – 3-0 – Superb run by Ishy, cutting in from the right, dribbling past several defenders, set up the chance for Charlton Davies to drive home from just outside the penalty-area.
Sinners’ List:-
64th min. – Ishy cautioned (now there’s a surprise!) for unsporting behaviour (foul). He didn’t take very kindly to being cautioned, either.
Comments:-
Playing up the Lamb slope, super Saddlers were well in control in the first half with Gilmartin rarely touching the ball. Certainly, the Clayheads couldn’t complain at trailing 0-2, at the interval but they came out with a more determined attitude at the start of the second half. However, we weathered the storm to resume the earlier dominance.
Defence:- all played well and were rarely troubled.
Midfield:- out wide, McDermott did o.k. but was nothing special while it was interesting to see Sansara reverting to his original position, wide left, where he used to play before signing for Walsall. He looked o.k. if a little unsure, at times, when to push on and when to drop back. In central midfield, N’Dour and Davies were steady and made few mistakes.
Attack:- Ishy was the livelier (scored one and created one) while Moore was not involved enough, for me.
Taundry (my MotM, tonight) will certainly return on Saturday and, of the others, Ishy looks the best bet (as a striker) if his injury is not too serious.

Cheers for this. Manny Smith ready for the first team?
Please God, say 'yes' and make me happy.

Purely on the basis of this match, it's difficult to say, KC. Stoke just weren't good enough to put us under pressure. That said, Manny did all that was asked of him and I'm sure he wouldn't look out of place in the first team. In fact, I'm sure that he'll be a 'regular' in a year's time.

the only impressionn he gives me is he don't want to be here.

I thought it was Moore at the time - but thought that Pedagogue probably had a better view than me.
I also thought it was McDermott that made the run on the right that lead up to the 3rd goal -
but maybe that could be down to my aging eyesight & failing memory :)

Addo & Bangsection - while it might to possible to mix up Ishy and Maud, even I, with my failing eyesight, in my dotage, am unlikely to confuse Ishy (black) with Diddy Dave (white)! :D :D

What's up with him is that he's not very good. That was blatantly obvious from the stats when we signed him, but nobody was having that at the time.

Sorry, a bit late on this one.
He was ready last season....or at least he was ready to be tried, just like Dann, Deeney and Nicholls were. If you don't try them you'll never know.
DD didn't try him so when Roper needed dropping he still didn't get a chance and now we sign a player from Reading who still doesn't play.
Poor management.
