Thanks to WFC's insistence on playing most home games during the day, I can't make it to Tamworth for what should be a very good game.
If anyone, on here, is going, please post the team list and any comments on our performance - and Forest's performance, for that matter, as BTH will, no doubt, be reading it! :D

Can't see any reports yet but found this ;--

We had a decent team out so it will be interesting to read any UTS reports later.

Thought the same. 3-0 is a bit of a pasting, even allowing for Forest's superior squad depth.

I'm also a little disappointed that Bradley was not involved.
I was kinda hoping he would be having a run out in readiness for Saturday

No Moore either, sure I read somewhere that DD said he'd get an hour.

Re: Reserves v. Nottingham Forest 4/3/08
Once again though Manny Smith was excellant as was Dobson.
As for Nicholls and Mcdermott they are unable or will not pass a ball which is a shame. they appear not to want anyone else to score and hang on to the ball till they lose it. Commendable in a way but it is a team game
Gilmartin seems to have lost confidence wonder why? as does Hanna
Davies good ball passer
Hope DD gives Smith his chance
dobson showed his experience

Might be that Forset only braught there white away kit! Thinking we had a red home kit still.
I wouldnt mind us playing a Umbro kit like Tamworths. It looks very smart.

it happened to our first team at Millwall in our championship days , we played in their all yellow second strip and got beat 3-0 , wonder if we were fined for that.

I doubt it. The League probably don't care what kits teams wear so long as they don't clash.
Sponsors and kit manufacturers, on the other hand, are likely to be a bit annoyed if their logos don't appear on the TV one week due to the team they're paying lots of money not being able to ensure that they can wear the kit that they take with them to the game. If it happened very often (or in a big televised match) then the chances are that the next sponsorship deal would be smaller - a far more effective punishment that sanctions from the League!

I didn't mean rules in terms of fines etc.
I meant rules in terms of which side has to 'give in' so to speak should kits clash.
I think the general rules are that no two parts of a kit can be the same - ie teams can have different colour tops, but if their shorts match, then its no go. Same goes for socks and shirts.
I think if instances like that happen, it's the away team that has to change either the whole kit or the offending part - thats why you sometimes see Man Utd play away from home in black shorts instead of white.

But if like past instances it probably wasn't a case of a side "giving in" is was more likely our kit was forgotten altogether like in the past, so we had to make do with whatever was available at the Tamworth ground.

Match report says Forest turned up in all-white, not ideal when you're playing a team in white/red. You'll note from the pic we are wearing our shorts/socks, but Tamworth's shirts. I wonder who was lumbered with the dry-cleaning run in order to get the tops back nice and clean to our friends from The Lamb? I nominate...Ishy.
