Port Vale (A) League 1 Boxing Day 26/12/07.

Sun Dec 23, 2007 6:36 am

Form Guide Vales last 6 league games.

Oldham - away - drew 1-1
Doncaster - home - lost 1-3
Leeds - away - lost 0-3
Gillingham - away - won 2-1
Tranmere - home - drew 0-0
Notts Forest - away - lost 0-2

With former Saddler Lee Sinnott in the hot seat Vale are 23rd in league 1 , 16 points from 21 games.
and with an F A cup defeat at the hands of Chasetown to haunt them thing are looking very glum.

prediction 2-0 away win the run continues.

3-1 to the super saddlers, following on from our demolition of millwall. Sweeney, Mooney and Ricketts to score the goals, shame i can't get along to this one.

Baz ,

You really must make a new year's resolution to try to be a little more positive.

I'll be there. The major downside to boxing day games is the pungent aroma of Turkey Farts in the air... can't wait

We will get a win on Boxing Day but I hope that we as supporters don’t forget the heroics of Chasetown and that we have a good vocal rendition of “Scholars!” repeated until we cannot sing anymore!!

I'll be there, hurting from the Christmas Day festivities.

Port Vale away on boxing day? Lovely stuff.

2-0 to the Saddlers

Bradley (if fit)

and either Ishy or Fox to wrap it up.

I should hopefully be going to this game and looking for us to repeat the Millwall performance.

Does anybody know whether you can get the supporters coaches to the game by just turning up and paying on the day or is the only option to book before hand? I was going to get a lift but that looks like it might have fallen through and I imagine there won't be anybody in the ticket office if I ring today or tommorow. Any help much appreciated.

I'll be disappointed with anything less than a clean sheet and two goals for us (although it is away!)
2 - 0 to us.

I think it'll be a rubbish, disjointed game with plenty of whistle-blowing from an egocentric referee. Just a hunch.
Vale are poor but would love nothing more than to end our run on boxing day and hence, will do all they can to prevent us from playing decent football.
Still think we'll have enough in our locker to win it though. 1-0 Bradley to score.

Vale were rubbish when we played them at Bescot. I really can't see them scoring unless we do something silly at the back. If we score early then this could be another comfortable win, if not then an attritional 0-0 could be on the cards. I'll be optimistic and say 3-0 to Walsall. Goals from Mooney, Bradley and Deeney.

Vale fans seem to think they can get something out of this one. You have to believe, I suppose, because they are going down. That said, this will be tough, but hopefully football will win out and it will be 2-1 to us.

Mmmmmmmm Vale are a bogey side sadly... and 3 points now could be just the fight back after losing comfortable to forest. Hopefully if we have a good day in front of goal we can nick this one. 1-0 i think ....... Fox ........1,707 saddlers there.

All time results between Walsall and Port Vale: 37 Wins / 23 Draws / 19 Defeats

Last 30 Years' results between Walsall and Port Vale: 13 Wins / 7 Draws / 6 Defeats

You have an interesting definition of a 'bogey side'!
