Leeds United (H) League 1 Saturday 15/12/07.

Sun Dec 09, 2007 6:33 am

Form Guide Leeds last 6 league game.

Carlisle - away - lost 1-3
Bournemouth - away - won 3-1
Swindon - home - won 2-1
Cheltenham - away - lost 0-1
Port Vale - home - won 3-0
Huddersfield - home -won 4-0.

Had it not been for the 15 points deduction Leeds would be a massive 13 points clear at the top of league , 15 wins 2 draws 2 defeat is an excellent achievement at any level , as things stand Leeds are in 5th position just 4 points ahead of us.

Prediction . heart says home win - head says draw.

Walsall 1 - 1 Leeds United .

I'd take a point and keep the unbeaten run going.

1-1 Beckford for them, Mooney for us.

However, I CAN see us winning this.

I just hope that the players and Wise underestimate our resilience and determination to get a result. Looking at the table and our form, they shouldn't, but a team 'robbed' of its 'rightful place' in the Premiership may think they only have to turn up against a side newly promoted from League Two.

After all, they lost at Cheltenham - albeit it strange circumstances.

Interesting to see their 2 league defeats have come recently , they have also lost in 2 cup games Hereford in the F A Cup and Bury in the JP Trophy. they are beatable.

Underestimating the oppo.

Poyet's departure left them in a fix for a while too.

Last time I saw us play Leeds United at home in the League we drew 1-1. I'd be happy with that again please.

I know, I know, it was a LONG time ago  (hint - Bobby Collins was on their side)

I'm loving everyone's optimism but Leeds really are the best team in this league by far. I'd walk barefoot across broken glass to be given a draw right now.

I remember those two games, too (14/4/62 and 27/10/62 - BOTH 1-1 draws). Some little squirt called Billy Bremner was on the right wing and a giraffe called Jack Charlton played up front (alongside Peacock?). Did John Charles play in central defence, in one of those games?

I will be pleased with a draw for this match, However we could win this if we keep our heads up.

1-1 or 2-1 to Walsall.

I reckon we'll score and keep another clean sheet in the process. 1-0 home win for me.
Beckford and Kandol started the season on fire but having seen them a couple of times recently, I think we should be able to handle them.
The key battles will take place in midfield where we have to make sure they don't walk all over us because I fancy our strikers to get a few decent chances.

I think Leeds will over-run us in Midfield but our defence will be on it's top form for this match. We could do with a bit of the same luck we've had recently with opposing strikers missing golden chances. Kandol seems to be a striker who can score goals for fun but I'm hoping not against us!

I'd take a draw right now but I predict a cautious 1-0 win, Fox for the goal.

I would LOVE to see the mighty Saddlers beat the squinty eyed little runt's lot. Nothing would give
me more pleasure than to see Leeds beaten by an overhead kick from the mighty Mooney, but
lets face it, it ain't gonna happen. We will end up 'just another scalp' in thier rush to the league title.

Why? Cheltenham 1 Leeds 0 Enough said.

I certainly think it will be 10k plus. Interestigly, Bristol Rovers, Brighton, Carlisle and Cheltenham have had either 'sell-outs' or near 'sell-outs' for the visit of Leeds so far. Oldham, Tranmere, Gillingham and Forest were nowhere near. I'm not sure what the significance is of that, but we do not have a devine right to expect a capacity crowd.

As people keep telling me, this is Walsall after all .

Really hope we win Leeds I dislike with a passion.

Leeds are flying despite their hiccups since Poyet's departure. One thing they won't do is miss chances like Forest did so it will be very tough.

However if we can perform like we have recently and get a bit more like I don't see why we can't get a draw or even a win. Lets just stay unbeated with winnable games against Millwall and Vale coming up.
