Luton Town (H) League 1 Saturday 17/11/07.

Sun Nov 11, 2007 8:20 am

Form guide the Hatters last 6 league games .

Doncaster - home - drew 1-1
Northampton - home - won 4-1
Crewe - away - lost 0-2
Notts Forest - home - won 2-1
Brighton - away - lost - 1-3
Carlisle - home -drew 0-0.

Luton tipped by many for a swift return to the championship (includung me) are 17th in the league on 18 points, they have yet to win away from home this season with 1 draw and 6 defeats scoring just 3 goals.

Prediction Walsall 1-0 Luton .
Mooney to score.

this is the big one for admin - as he lives close to luton's ground...and my best mate is a Hatter.

Form guide - in the modern era - 11 matches between the sides - walsall have won 7, luton 3, just one draw.

Luton are absolute rubbish on the road - they were under Newell, and continue to be so under Blackwell. For whom the bell will shortly toll as the new owner is rumoured to be getting a bit upset.

So it has to be a relatively comprehensive home win for the Saddlers. 3-1

Mooney will be well up for this one. He still has hero status at Watford, who are Luton's biggest "local" rivals. He'll want to put one over them and I'm sure there lot will be giving him some stick. That means he's guaranteed to score at least once.

2-0, Mooney and Dann.

It will be reasonably tight but we will win 2-1 after going 1-0 down first half. Mooney and Ricketts to score.

Still can't understand how Luton aren't in the top 5 or 6 with the squad they've got, so kind of have the feeling they're bound to hit some form sooner or later.

Having said that, we seem to have become difficult to beat recently so I think we'll scrape through with a 1-0. Mooney to score.

Unless we sign an influential midfielder, a draw looks most likely to me.

Yeah I feel nervous about this one. I'm thinking a draw although I hope I'm wrong.

Unless we sign a midfielder I can't even see us getting a draw to be honest. I can't even begin to guess who'd play in there with Wrack if we don't bring anyone else in. Gerrard might be the best guess, but I can't see him doing a good enough job to make a difference and we'd be breaking up the defence that's served us so well the last few weeks. I think that we will bring someone in though - and if it's the right person then there's no reason why we can't win this one.

Sonko and Wrack in central midfield - isn't that just the definition of powder-puff?

Not optimistic if we don't get someone who can tackle in before Saturday...

Luton have just signed Marc Wilson on loan from Portsmouth.
A really promising young midfielder who has just been on loan at Bournmouth.

They're also looking to bring in a "Premiership striker" on loan, in time for Saturday.

I really hope we can bolster our midfield too, before Saturday!!
