Tranmere Rovers ( A) League 1 Friday 12/10/07.

Sun Oct 07, 2007 8:44 am

Form Guide , Tranmere's league results to date.

Leeds - home - lost 1-2
Gillingham - away - won 2-0
Brighton - home -won 2-0
Yeovil - away - drew 1-1
Carlisle - away - won 1-0
Luton - home-won 2-1
Cheltenhan - away - drew 1-1
Northampton - home - drew 2-2
Crewe - home - drew 1-1
Southend - away - won 2-1

Tranmere are now top of league 1 , just 5 points ahead of us.
I'd gladly settle for a point , but on current form who would bet against us gaining our 4 straight victory, one thing for sure Rovers will provide a sterner test than Huddersfield.

Prediction Tranmere 1 -2 Walsall

They were beaten at home 0-1 by Morecambe in the JP Trophy , but I suspect Rovers fielded a weakend side.

The temptation is to ride on the wave of optimism after the last three games and predict a win for the mighty Saddlers.

However, I don't think it will be an easy game - no games against Ronnie Moore teams ever are.

I think it will be a score draw (1-1 or 2-2).

And I will be there to cheer on the lads !

Looking at their form guide, they have drawn their last 2 home games against unfancied teams, the last being against Crewe who were hammered at home by the bottom club yesterday.

A draw is there for the taking at least but I feel we may sneak this one, just as we did at their ground just over a year and a half ago.

The next two games are a fantastic opportunity for us to test ourselves as to how good we are against the better sides in this league, sides that are likely to be contesting top 2 positions come May. And we can do so with freedom, points are in the bag and nobody expected us to be top 10 so let's just go out and do our stuff and let them take the pressure and worry about us.

Of course 2 wins.... 8) :?:

I'll go for a 1-0 win now Money looks to have found a formula that works. Mooney to score again.

If Jimmy Mullen is still here Tranmere 4 Walsall 9, almost enough to put Sid Swifty in 2 minds about going to the Southend game.

If as suggested JM gets the Chelsea job sometime next week, Tranmere 3 Walsall 0 and we'll be relegated by Christmas.

After a long campaign by Tranmere fans, the large Kop End is now purely for home fans. Away fans are housed in the opposite end, the affectionately named Cowshed. However, you will be relieved that the only connection with a real cowshed is the name, as the fairly new covered, all seated stand, has good facilities and unhindered views of the playing action. It can hold up to 2,500 fans.

Forgive me if im wrong but I think that Jolysaddlers last game was away at Tranmere because I remember having a pint with him in the pub next to the ground- It would be nice if we could all meet in there before the game and have a drink for the big lad as this is our first visit since we lost the big man.

Like I said above forgive me if im wrong.

I can't see us losing this one, we're playing so well at the moment. I'll go for a narrow Saddlers win.
