Oldham Athletic (H) - League 1 - 23/9/07 3pm
The return of Michael Ricketts and Lee Hughes - both of whom played today.
Should be something for the Walsall crowd to get their teeth into, there!

Form Guide Oldham's league results to date.
Swansea - home - won 2-1
Carlisle - away - lost 0-1
Bristol R- away -lost 0-1
Harlepool - away -lost 1-4
Southend -home -lost 0-1
3 points against a struggling team is a must , we also have a black country fun day to look forward to.
Walsall 2-0 Oldham. Butler , Sonko.

My only concern is when you look at the standard of their opposition for the games they have lost. With the exception of Bristol and Hartlepool who have started well anyway, they have played teams you would expect to be in the mix up at the top come the end of the season.
Still - no wins - no confidence - now is the time to play them I suppose.
I'll go for a 2-1 victory with Butler and Sonko to score for us, and Ricketts for them.

Nice image. Will Hughes 'kiss the badge' after his goal too? I hope so. He does in my imagination anyway. :D

I picture him saluting the F2G Stand with the familiar hand-cupped-to-ear celebration in order to hear our non-existant boos. At this point a smiling Michael Ricketts will join jailbird Hughes as one fan is forcibly ejected for lobbing a coin at the odious pair.
Ricketts will later be substituted and walk straight down the tunnel after a volley of F words in the direction of John Sheridan, while the TXT Stand incumbents, already celebrating our win, wave him on his way.

Tremendous! Virtually pornographic in its ecstatic climax. I may have to have a little lie down. :D
But, like many fantasies, is that all it will ever be? :(

But this week i'm full of confidence that we will get our first home victory.
1-0 Walsall - Wrack.
4,967
400 500 from Oldham
The same crowd for successive home games?
After our win at Millwall, can we keep the run going, or will Oldham do to us what we did to Millwall?
I think neither. A reasonably entertaining 1-1 draw, Wrack for us.
Crowd: 4,605.
