Goal Log:-
19 min. - 0-1 Charlton Davies split the Scholars' defence with a fine run with the ball and finished coolly.
48 min. - 1-1 Sansara upends a Chasetown player and ex-Saddlers triallist Dean Perrow equalises from the spot.
66 min. - 2-1 Perrow puts the home side ahead with a breakaway goal, against the run of play.

Comments:-
A Walsall squad made up of half first year pros and half apprentices (a number of whom had played against Chelmsley Town, 24 hours previously) lost a game that they should have won. Despite being generally in control, they rarely troubled the Chasetown ‘keeper as their play in the final third of the field rarely matched their defence and midfield. Clearly, they were missing Deeney and Nicholls!
