 Offer Here,
We have to be optimistic, even though our current form and goals scored say, we will struggle!!
Realism can also breed pessimism, so I don"t want to be realistic about our chances.
We also had a long running thread as to how important ISHY was going to be to us this season.
Fair play, he was suspended for the 1st 2 games and played a "minor" role v Orient.
SO,
If we are one up with 20 minutes to play, will he "RISK" him.
If we are one nil down with 20 minutes to play, will it be too late, If he brings him on.
What about being a little controversial and playing him from the start.
Ok , he"s young BUT he did make his goal scoring debut v Vale some 2 years ago and a call-up for the U-18"s in the same year.
He has made 47 appearances for the saddlers, amazingly 31 as substitute and just 3 goals.
Come on, lets get real, he"s either good enough ( must be, we gave him a 2 year deal ) or he"s not.
If his attidude is the real concern, it should have been dealt with by now.
For Christ sake, if everyone at the club thinks he"s such a great asset, WHY NOT GIVE A GOOD RUN @ 90 MINUTES.
At least, we all can then make an informed opinion on this lad, based on quality time spent on the field and not in the dug out.
Just a thought.
Ps, I hope to God WE WIN !!

Personally, I'd still like to see us go 4-5-1, but I don't know if we're capable of playing it..
Normal back 4, middle 3 of Dobson sitting just behind Sonner and Wrack.
With Mooney the sole striker, and Ishmel plus one of Hall/Sonko supporting Mooney.
That Chelsea-esque 4-5-1 when defending, 4-3-3 when attacking.

I thoroughly agree, but I don't think Money will do it until he's tried the 4-4-2 with Butler up top alongside Mooney.

I also think it would work. Its something I thought for a while, however I can't see DD being willing to try it.
Hope he proves me wrong.

I think that would work too, but we do have to remember that we haven't had everyone available for a game yet. There is an argument about the relative positions of Wrack and Sonko, but it's worth a go.

I had discussed this with one or two people as well. Would be nice to see it tried but as said, it would be nice to see 4-4-2 with everyone available first (barring Picken of course!!) I think Wrack would play off / behind Mooney rather than Sonko and probably Hall too.
As for this Saturday, It'll probably look like:
Ince
Weston Roper Dann Boertien
Hall Dobson Sonner Wrack
Mooney Butler (if fit enough)
subs: The Boss, Ishy, Fox, Gerrard, Carneiro
Shame there's no space for any of the kids there.
1-1 with Wrack to score, 6299 with 790 from Swansea

Yes I agree that would be interesting. I also like the idea of Wrack, Ishy, and Hall being given license to roam, all 3 can play either flank or can get beyond the striker. I think it would be very difficult to play against as all 3 are very good footballers- much more difficult than 4-4-2 with Caneiro.

And on current form I would be amazed if we score 1!
Yo can never tell in football.
Walsall 2 Swansea 2
Pure guesswork. No idea, really.
My problem is (inter alia) that I can never predict a Walsall defeat. Just can't do it!

Jorge14 wrote:Interesting idea Stu, and I think that could definately work for us away from home at bigger grounds - but do you think the Banks's pitch would be too narrow for it to work effectively?
Possibly, but its just about exploiting gaps... Carlisle did it superbly with those balls between centre half and full back.

Wikipedia has the Banks's only two yards narrower than Stamford Bridge. If it can work for them on their pitch, then it can work for us on ours.
