To be honest, I thought the opposite. Taylor tries to play killer passes rather than playing it simple too often for me. Funny old game eh?!

Yes, and we already have Harry Harris in the youth team.

I hope they both have brycreamed short-back-and-sides, and smoke 50 Woodbines a day.

Good to be back,

Lads did what was expected and 4-0 win was well deserved.

Sam looked useful in attack and could cause some problems

The right back Stanton looked useful even tho he did look like Percie a bit :D

Players also looked very fit as well

Nathan Stanton has come from Scunthorpe United and Hector Sam from Port Vale. The team looked lean and fit - even Roper! (Until Proudlock came on, that is! ) The general concensus is that this is due to a radical new concept, introduced by Dick Dosh, called TRAINING - that's T R A I N I N G. Apparently, this does NOT involve smoking, drinking, night-clubbing, darts or table-tennis.

The big plus tonight for me was the form of Constable. He looked much fitter and sharper and took his goals superbly (even if the first involved a bit of Maradona-style cheating!). I know it was only Halesowen but Beano certainly looked "up for it".

The award for the worst pun of the evening went to Cheesebag for "Life's no Bedeau roses". Even the two mini-cheddars disowned him for that!

Are we building a side based on Coronation Street?

No, if you looked at cheesebags bad pun, he said a 'Bedeau of Roses' , I myself like the Big purple one, or the truffle. Cadburys miniature heroes however are represented by Dean Keates.

To try and answer Registered Saddler's point - didn't Hector Sam break a leg or at least have a bad injury last season which is why he didn't play for Vale?
And where is Tommy Taylor from??

Yes.

Michael Walsh played a full game for the first time on Tuesday when the reserves played against Stockport County.
Hector Sam moved a step forward towards a first team return in the same game when he played 75 minutes.
Although the season will soon be drawing to a close, Vale fans would like to see the pair of them in action for the first team soon.
We spoke to Martin Foyle and asked him the possibility of them turning out for first team duty in the near future.
He told us: "Hector isn't ready yet. He is getting there but he's still short of what we feel is ready for a first team return.
"He hasn't played a full game for the reserves yet. He has played 45 minutes, then 60 minutes and then he played 75 minutes.
"Hopefully we are looking for a game this Tuesday where he will play a full 90 minutes.
"Michael Walsh played the full game on Tuesday against Stockport. I am surprised he lasted the 90 minutes, but he was very stiff the next day.
"He still needs a couple of games, because we have to be careful he doesn't break down again.
"He is obviously a player I would like to see playing regular first team football and that is why he was offered a new contract last season.
"I have been disappointed, he's been disappointed, but at the end of the day it's gone and we can only look forward."

Son of Sun Tan Man - aged about 22 - former Saddlers trainee - released at end of his traineeship - no idea where he has been playing since.

Interesting to see some of the Halesowen photos on the official site credited to one 'Dean Keates'. Perhaps he's looking at his career after football. Although judging by the quality of them he could do with buying a proper camera rather than taking them on his phone.

Still, excellent economising from the club. It would be great to see other injured players mucking in. We might not have needed to sell Fryatt if Wracky had been able to man a turnstile or sell 50/50 tickets last season.
