Accrington Stanley (H) League 31/3/07 Oli's Match.

Mon Mar 26, 2007 9:46 am

Form guide for what its worth at this time in the season.
Accrington last 6 games.

Lincoln - home - drew 2-2
Rochdale - away - lost 2-4
Bristol R - home -drew 1-1
Swindon - away - lost 0-2
Torquay - home - won 1-0
Hereford - home - won 2-0.

Last away win for Stanley - 10/2 /07 2-1 at Barnet.
Then only thing we have to fear is complacency.

Saddlers to win 3-0 , we created chances against wycombe and mk dons to top 8 teams, therefore we should start to score some goals.

Just a win will do me even if it’s in the last minute and comes of the keepers nose as long as it means 3 points in the bag.

I can see Accrington stifling the midfield with five men as they need points and we have sometimes struggled against that this season so it may not be as easy as first though.

Any win will do but hopefully we can put in a Barnet like performance and create some goals from open play and win by 2 or 3.

2-0. Butler and Harper.

Our home average in league games is about 5500 and stanley don't have a massive home support so might not bring many therefore 4983 or it could just be a random number i picked

If Accrington Stanley only lost 4-2 at Rochdale we should give them some respect, after seeing what Rochdale did to Stockport County away the other week!!!

Having said that, if we can have a repeat of the kind of performance we put up against MK Dongs then I see no reason why we shouldn't have a 3-0 win.

3 - 0

at this stage any win will do but a comfortable win and good performance will improve our confidence and momentum We will have to break them dowm though, haven't they just won 2 on the trot without conceding a goal? Need good performances from the two Kevin's as breaking teams down has not exactly been our strong point this season

1-0 or 2-1 (obviously with them scoring first) to the Saddlers

Hopefully crowd up towards 6000, can't see them bringing many, they don't take many at home

Two things that nobody has mentioned yet.

Firstly, Saturday is a "Red Alert" day so there should be a decent crowd with Saddlers fans behind both goals.

Secondly Accrington have two important meetings on Friday. One to appeal their striker's red-card from last week, and more importantly the hearing regarding their fielding inelligible players.

My understanding is that this could lead to a points deduction that could completely scupper their attempts to avoid relegation the players in question played in 3 games so -9 points would just about sink them).

We could therefore be facing a complelety demoralised outfit shorn of an important player, or alternatively one buoyed by two pieces of very welcome news.

The knock on effect of a 9 point deduction (should they take that stance) should see both Wrexham and Bury safe, so they would have nothing to play for when we play them.

This could actually have quite a bearing on the "mentality" surrounding our run-in.
