Stockport County (A) League Tuesday 20/2/07

Sat Feb 17, 2007 5:12 pm

Form Guide

Stockport's last 6 league games.

Peterborough - away - won 3-0
Wycombe - home - won 2-0
Wrexham - away - won 1-0
Hereford - away - won 2-0
Mansfield - home - won 1-0
Accrington - away - won 1-0

Again we meet a team bang on form , interesting fact County keeper Wayne
Hennessey on loan from Wolves (of all places) has played 7 league games in his career and as yet to concede a goal . however all good things must come to an end.
Perdiction 1-0 to the Saddlers scorer ...who cares anybody . somebody.

I'll wait for the first person to predict we'll win 3-0 or 3-1

All depends how we set ourselves up for this one. Mr Money might be tempted to play extremely defensive and go for a 0-0. I sincerely hope not. I hope we go there and at least give it a go.

Unfortunately, I think the usual scapegoats may lose their places....so expect Taylor to be dropped and possibly even Sam. And what of Dobson? I think we have NO chance of holding Stockport if he doesn't play but is he mentally strong enough to bounce back from last night?

So many ifs and buts....

I'll go for a 2-1 defeat (as I did against Lincoln  )

By way of contrast

Walsall's last six league games:

Lincoln - home - lost 1 - 2
Hartelpool - away - lost 1 - 3
Rochdale - home - draw 1 - 1
Macclesfield - away - won 2 - 0
Boston - home - draw 1 - 1
Mansfield - away - lost 2 - 1

From our last 6 matches we have Won 1, drawn 2, lost 3, Points 5.

Who would you replace Taylor with?

Why would you want to replace Sam after another decent goal-scoring performance last night?

Would you play Dobson after what happened last night?

So many MORE ifs and buts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Prediction?

I'll go for 1-1 (Butler).

matty_walsall4eva could also have written it as wrote:if we have an anonymous midfield in the side a 3-0 loss

if a one man or anonymous midfield isnt in the side a 1-0 win

I just think we need to realise that the midfield should consist of 4 players that all contribute and work together.

Personally I wouldn't....but I suspect that Mr Money will play golden boy Wrack on the left and install even-more-golden-boy Fox at left back.

Again, I wouldn't. But again, I suspect Mr Money will put Par up front on the basis that we're going to knock lots of long high balls to chase.

redsaddler wrote:Would you play Dobson after what happened last night?

Absolutely. He's been a one-man midfield for most of the season and without his defensive qualities and willingness to accept a pass, we wouldn't have gained so many points. Who t play with him? Keates certainly isn't good enough although I thought last night was his best game of the season so far. Pead? Flatters to deceive most of the time. I'd give Dann a try.

Come on Linda, sos was very positive last night. His song of "We're staying up, we're staying up, Walsall's staying up was spot on

Dobson plays a more important role away from home and yes, we do need him. It will be a massive test of character for him to come back into the side and play well though. As lomg as he isn't greeted with jeers from his own fans, I expect he'll be ok.

As for a score prediction, I'll got for 1-1. Dann to score.

Dobson & Dann in midfield? That's a gamble! Although, then again, it could work!

Would you therefore have Westwood and Ropes at centre back, with Pead at right back?

Hope or expectation?

Hope: 0-1 to us!

Expectation: 5-0 as we are that poor at the moment.

Not a bad idea --Dann and Dobson in the centre.Afterall Dann is the only man along with Ishmel who is capable of beating a man.
Yes Dobson had a mare but at least he puts in the effort and is involved in the game unlike fatboy Wrack who can't get near the ball. The booze and fags have finally taken their toll.

I don't trust DD to pick our best team anymore so 3-1 Stockport.

Our ususal 4 haven't decided if we are going yet or not. Not sure we fancy carrying the can if we do get beat. We could always sit in the Stockport end I suppose.

I feel a 0-0 back to basics coming on.

It would be a good point there, and you never know a good set piece.

We will win by the odd goal. Typical Walsall. You think they're nailed on winners/losers and they go and do the opposite!
