"They'll be a few clowns on the pitch on Saturday... this should bring the crowds in"

there was one in the dugout every game last year, but that didn't seem to help....!

I'll go for a 3-2 win, though thats being a bit optimistic. Realistically this will be more of a test, and we might have to settle for a draw. Dobsons injury is a worry, though hopefully money is on the lookout for a second midfielder which could help things.

As for the goals, butler, sam and wright

No need to have too much respect for Hartlepool, a side that hung on for a nil-all draw against the Macc lads, and pale shadows of their former selves. They're breaching the wage cap so can't do anything with their squad without dumping players, they're yet to score this season in two starts and missed two penalties against Swindon. Something's wrong with the monkey hangers.

If we're shorn of Dobson we could see a change in formation, and maybe a reduction in service, but the chances we've been creating so far are setting us up well, and our defence looks good.

1-0 could be on the cards, but if the ball falls well that could be 4 - it's that sort of feeling.

3 - 0 (Butler, Kinsella, Butler)

Our defence looks tight - let's see how long we can keep a clean sheet for (Early days, but what is the Walsall record?)

1-0

As I said on the Stockport match thread, another win and a clean sheet will do wonders for our confidence. This is our first 'test' of the season, and the next 3 league games will give us a good measure of how we are in comparison to the other teams tipped for promotion.

If we can take 7 points from this run of games, then we will be top of the league at the end of August. Staying unbeaten and keeping goals against to 1 or 2 at most is crucial for confidence.

Hartlepool are yet to score this season, we are yet to concede. On the basis of that I think we'll win 1-0, but it will be hard.

1 - 0 to Walsall.

Will we possibly struggle slightly in midfield with the absense of Dobson?

Hartlepool looking possibly lightweight upfront after selling Boyd to Luton?

We shall see. 8)

Can't make this home game either as down in bath but will be checking the scores!! Looking forward to the 'new' bescot atmosphere for the first time v Darlington I hope!!

I think Hartlepool are being under estimated by some, cos they have had a poor start, by all accounts they played swindon off the park first game of the season, very unlucky not to win, missed two penaltys

I think they will be nearer the top than the bottom come the end of the season.

1-1 Sam to score our goal

We're now going into the game in 4th place after Peterborough beat Boston United away from home tonight (wednesday). Not that that is relevant but still :)

3-1 to the Mighty Reds.

Butler (again), Sam & a late one for Constable.

See they've got the face painters in as well - perhaps the only way a certain former manager can get in the ground on match days now ! Maybe he'll ask them to make him look like a manager !
