If you mean Rob, he must have a transporter - he's in Tamworth/Watford!
By the way, the match was crud.
Who was the guy wearing the new away shirt then?
:?
As it happens, his name is Rob :D It's just not Perksy.
Does he post on here? I recognised him from somewhere...

As I said a few weeks ago Butler is playing well and Sam's build up play is good, he can turn defenders inside out but his finishing is poor.
Constable should start alongside Butler if we want to score goals. I don't care if his all round game isn't up to scratch yet.
Constable will force his way into the team and will end up top scorer this season...unless we sign someone else this year.

I thought Money said Roper and Westwood wouldn't play any more friendlies as they both suspended for start of season. So why did we play both as the main partnership for last 20 minutes and not even give Dann a look in? Maybe there is another centre-half waiting in the wings ...
Kris Taylor at left back - well OK he's played there before, but Fox as a winger? I think he did alright in central midfield when he played there last season but he ain't a wideman! The alternative is Ishy and he left the ball behind more times than he beat someone this afternoon.
Pead started as a midfielder at Coventry and he's played there for us. So can anyone recall the last out and out right back we had at the club? In the last few years we seem to have played anybody there except someone who did it for a living (i.e. Marshy, Wright, Wrack, Charlie ... the list goes on).
Butler/Sam partnership looks good except all chances seem to fall to Hector and his conversion rate is abysmal. How many did he miss today?
We created some half decent openings but didn't put them away. Rule number 1 in football - you have to take your chances.
We played against a team that were 3 leagues below us last season and who had a number of trialists and new players today. They weren't good but created a few chances and even hit the bar from an unmarked header. Rule number 2 - if you can't stop the opposition scoring, you have to score more to get results.
PS Where was Lesley Ash at half-time? Saw Lee Chapman and his mum and sister but not trout-pout.
PPS Lots of chants for Ozzie but not for Alfie Wood. Am I just old or didn't anyone else remember his stint at Fellows Park?

all that matters the players get match practice and avoid any injuries.
Its always nice to win of course , we have had good pre seasson before and struggle when the season started .
Exactly, Dave. Look at Celtic - couldn't buy a goal pre season, yet won their first league game yesterday 4 - 1. It's just a chance to experiment and try a few things out.

Richard Money has certainly done that , and fair play to him

more signings
i went to stafford rangers game with a friend who is a stafford fan so i sat in home seating area 2 seats down was roy whalley jeff bonser, and paul taylor they did a lot of quiet talking couldnt hear names but they were commenting on areas to improve and i gathered there will be more signings. what i can tell you is judging by the comments they r determined walsall football club will be promoted this season. also dick dosh was very vocal from the bench goos to see that passion even in a pre season game.

Alfie Carter? Even I can only just remember Alf Wood! :)
He was on the pitch at half-time as part of their 1979 FA Trophy winning side - he scored both their goals in the final.
Which is in complete contrast to when he played for us. I remember him ballooning the ball over the centre of an empty net from less than 6 yards out during one home game. To prove it wasn't a fluke it did exactly the same thing a couple of games later!!

A Stafford mate of mine has been reading this thread and, as he is not a member of our board, has asked me to post this:
"Our number 4 is Craig McAughtrie (ex Carlisle and Sheff Utd). You cannot have him and he will not sign for you as he is a happy policeman in the Derbyshire Police force.
Who were our triallists!!! Number 10 was announced as Guy Johnson but we know our manager plays players under assumed names so as not to alert other teams"

The linesman had his flag up for offside.
i figured that out becasue i seen him with his flag in the air, but he didnt look offside
