Carmarthen Town (a) Tuesday 25th July

Mon Jul 24, 2006 9:21 am

Anyone coming to West Wales to witness the continuing ups and downs of our very strange club? They seem to be quite a decent outfit (Carmarthen, that is) having drawn with Swansea's best team 3-3 and only lost 0-1 to Cardiff in the run-up to this season. They share the same nickname as Hereford (The Bulls) and they achieved a certain amount of notoriety last season when they signed a guy who was currently serving time for football hooliganism - not sure whether he's still with them (Craig Hughes, I think).

I'll be happy if we can keep a clean sheet, so my prediction from the heart is for a 2-0 win.

The ground is Richmond Park, and it's behind the main Toyota dealer Denzil Evans - about a mile from the railway station. I'll be the elderly gent wearing the red/white scarf.........

I'll see you there WS. It's not often that I get to meet a Saddlers fan older than me (albeit by only 3 months!). :D :D

Will you or Leamore manage to keep us posted with progress reports WS or can we expect a full time analysis? Thanks either way.

Any live score feature appreciated for those of us at work during the game. Anyone wanting to txt them to me to post had better think twice due to cost!

Sorry for the delay. Leamore has been phoning me. But due to having a new kitchen fitted the wife has been having me clean up the tonnes of mess (and refusal would result in me having no nads by tomorrow morning  ).

Anyway, starting line up:-

Ince
Pead
Dann
Roper
Taylor
Wright
Kinsella
Keates
Fox
Sam
Butler

Half time 2 - 2

1 - 0 Camarthen. Long punt upfield, one on one with Roper (who gets nowhere near) and puts it in the net.

1 - 1 30 mins. Hector Sam.

1 - 2 36 mins. Mark Wright.

2 -2 late on in first half. An header over Ince who was apparently miles off his line.

More to follow (Leamore & wife allowing).

Ince well off his line again! Looks like MMF is right again.

Maybe Ince should start the season to replace the suspended Westwood and Roper. He seems to spend most of his time there!

UPDATES.

It's Gerrard, NOT Dann in the starting line-up (Leamores mistake !)

Fox has been substituted by request of the referee. Apparently he had a bit of a disagreement with two or three Carmarthen players.

Bedeau has replaced Fox.

Nice to see Fox settling in to Ishy's role so comfortably.

Wish people would get off Ince's back . After all the season has not even started yet and people are moaning .

People just need to forget we had Jimmy Walker behind the sticks for so long a move on .... and support the guy who is in goals now

I hadn't intended to criticise Ince, but he just lookd very dodgy. We can forget about Jimmy Walker of course, but that doesn't mean we can forget about having a quality goalkeeper in the squad. I use Shrewsbury as an example very often because it's easy for me, but they have signed 2 goalkeepers of reasonable pedigree, both of whom are probably better than Ince. If they can do it, so can we.
I'm willing to give Ince every chance to prove me wrong though.
