Stoke City (A) 28/01/06- F.A Cup 4th Round
So how we going to do? Im off to Swansea in a bit and have got meetings all week so I thought id start this one off!
I think it will be 1-1. Stoke are struggling at home and have got a few injuries Saturday the most famous of them being Kevin Harper!
Back to Bescot for a replay.

I'd say that too. I won't bet on it though, otherwise there'd be no chance !
2 - 0 - January 8th 1966 revisited. I know, cos I was there.
I was there as well Neil, only seems like yesterday, them were the days every team wanted to avoid Walsall'because we used to knock em over at home or away.

Me too - Guts, goals and glory for ten man Walsall as the Sunday paper had it. What a day.

No match preview today. Instead, just to try and inspire the youngsters among us, a piece I did a while ago on the 1966 game is on the front page (and yes, Leamore, I know we have now established Matthews played in 62/3, it was 63/4 he was missing!). For the record, I don't think we'll have a better chance of beating them again as we have tomorrow, as their current form is abysmal.

Ah, sweet memories. I went with my father, being only 14 at the time, like yourself Neil. We stood around the halfway line and I remember a clayhead girl in front of us just before kick off saying to her friend that she wondered how many they would score.... Larf!
For years afterwards I had a picture from the paper of all the Walsall players pointing at the hole in the net where the ball had gone in. Wish I still had it.
My father was also a referee, and even taught referees later on (which is when I got my 'badge'.
