A typical Walsall performance, with the heat intensifying, we'll pull a rabbitt out of the hat. All those who think Merse is a "nice bloke" will come out and say "Told you so, he'll get it right, just give him time."

2-1 win. (Followed by a home defeat to Donny)

I honestly dont know.... I can't call this one.
We MAY get away with a draw.

Ref-watch: The man in the middle for this match is Trevor Kettle. He 'reffed' our home win against Swindon earlier this season.

4-1 to Huddersfield - maybe worse. We're without Ozzie, our player of the season so far and the only player capable of holding our midfield (just about) together.

Without him, I expect more chaos than usual, so for me it'll be "Nil Points" and a sizeable hole in the goal difference.

We have quite a lot of injuries so I'm not that optimistic as I use to be.

We loose 2-1.....

I'm just going for a few pints and a ride on the train, will probably think about the match and get moderately excited at about 5 to 3. Can't wait for the day when we have proper match days to look forward to rather than this cracked record of a win every 3 or 4 boring games, just enough to prolong Merson's career. Its as entertaining as watching a braindead corpse recieving electric resuscitation.

Can just see it 2-0 up and conceded a goal just before half time and have our normal second half collapse and go on to lose 3-2 <again>

Its a shame how things have turned out. Walsall fans predicting their own team to lose and even the ones that have picked us to win are just hoping.
Shame, but thats what its come down to. :(

I agree with geoff. I think it could be 4 or 5-1 to them. We might keept it down to 2 or 3 if Roper plays but even then it will take him a game or two to get back into the pace of things (it always does).

Demontagnac could have a field day on their big pitch and so could Husbands if he plays (which I hope he does) but we can't defend for toffee and they were strong going forward last night.

In the Express and Star tonight it says that our injury list now includes Bennett, Standing and Gillett, who all limped out of training yesterday and sat out today's session.

This means that we might have eleven players not available against Huddersfield: Oakes, Bennett, Staunton, Gerrard, D. Taylor, Osborn, Wrack, Smith, Gillett, Standing and Merson.

I hope that this just the E&S making something out of nothing.

Does it really matter? If we had every player at the club fit it wouldn't only confuse Merson and he'd still play people out of position. At least this way he can only play who's fit.

Can't think positive about this one. The injuries and Osborn missing. I'm afraid it'll be a Huddersfield win 3-1  or even more.
The only Walsall goal is made from 11 meter by ....

What's this he's talking about ? Meters ? I'm not having any of that fangled European rubbish talked on this site. You've been to Walsall now Duvelken, please talk in good old fashioned Imperial measurements. Is 11 meters the same as 12 yards ?

h/t 1-0 Huddersfield
f/t 1-1

Late equaliser as we play ten men against nine, the ref being stupid and having destroyed the game early on in the piece with incessant whistle-blowing culminating in an on-field brawl and the dismissals.

Merse to watch proceedings in his suit from the sidelines, leading to confusion when all fans start chanting "Who's the b*st*rd in the black?"

0-0 - an up against it rearguard action with reformed fat boy Roper coming on to perform heroics.
Merson goes on to say best performance since i've been here what with all our injuries and kids.
Job safe for another few games.

or....................... concede an early goal - bennett sent off - Ruddy saves penalty- we equalise against run of play - ruddy keeps us in it with some fantastic saves - pressure tells and we ship 4 more goals. 5-1. Merson offers his resignation- Bonser refuses - job safe for another few games.

Injuries

Wed Oct 12, 2005 8:41 am

With all of our injuries, the way we're playing and the confidence that Merse instils in the side it'll be a hefty defeat. At least 3-0, probably 4 or 5 nil.
Merse will obviously say we had terrible luck with injuries and may mention that we had to play with a skeleton squad, but the players defended like his kids school team at times. On a more positive note he'll say we had lots of chances to score and could've been 4-0 up at half time.
