After last Saturday I know playing Staunton won't go down too well with our fans but with Fox doubtful and Bennett definitely out, Staunton (if fit hiimself) is our only recognised left sided defender. I know Kris Taylor has played there (incluuding Monday) but would rather see him in midfield - especially if no Standing (or else means Smith and/or Wrack back!!!)
Best hope is Oakes in goal, Westwood, Gerrard and Staunton as back 3, Pead and Taylor as wing backs, Ossie, Standing/Wrack/Broad/ & Wright in the middle, front 2 Jorge and Fryatt (as it looks like he's stopping now).
With that formation - Walsall win by 2 clear goals. Anything else - struggle for a draw.
BTW Think Smith will come good at some point - but needs time in reserves before coming straight into team.

The way Merson was talking it sounds more likely Fox will be fit rather than Staunton. If Staunton has had a week on the sidelines I dread to think how slow he would be come Saturday. I really hope the "first choice" back 4 is fit so they can start a game together and prove themselves. On thing that interests me about this game is that Swindon allegedly play 4-5-1 away from home, so I dread to think how congested the midfield could become, or how overun our midfield could be if Smith, Wrack, and Merson are all in it. Intriguing stuff. Can't remember the last time we lost at home to Swindon, infact I don't think I can ever remember us losing at home to them.

Well Swindon are not prolific scorers away from home so far this season which would tempt me into believing it could be our 2nd clean sheet of the season.
Yet being a walsall fan i realise that wont happen and we will get the game where they realise where the goal is. With Gerrard and Westy at the back im feeling
more confident about keeping the goals down so i predict:
Walsall 3 (Westwood, Taylor, Wright )
Swindon 1 (smith)
